Besides inconsistent and mostly useless internet and in store wifi with no Internet we also have an almost useless app. I've held items in my hand, used the app, scanned the barcode, and given the messages of either "item not found" or "not in stock.". I appreciate sarcasm with the best. I'm a sarcastic wise a* myself, so why do I find it so annoying to be told that something in my hand is not in stock? Many items which are on sale are frequently not marked on sale. The pharmacy is staffed with some genuinely nice and helpful people who will go out of their way to help you. However, for whatever reason, they rarely answer the phone. This forces to to go to the store when I don't need to. Please fix the dan phone Giant! A few years ago I spent an extended time in the DC suburbs in Maryland. This is how I became acquainted with Giant, In particular, the store brand Nature's Promise is what brought me on board. Curiously I can buy Nature's Promise vegetable juice at Food Lion (also owned by Ahold) but I can't buy it at Giant. Why? And while I'm on the subject of other grocers, Giant, please have a look at Wegmans. Don't just copy the train. Lol. I recently moved here and I miss Wegmans. Whenever I shopped there some prices were Oh Wow (good) while others were Oh Wow (disappointed.). I frequently have the second Oh Wow and very rarely the first. You ain't the only store in town and just because the other money pit is your nearest neighbour doesn't mean that I or any other customers won't drive 10 minutes or less to the other side of town....
Read moreIf I could give no stars I would. I was there a few weeks back and had an order larger than the 20 item max allowed at self checkout. There was a young man who was scanning my order I said hello and he didn’t acknowledge me. I usually help bag and after the transaction was complete he stood there and watched me finish bagging my groceries. Once complete he just turned around and I thanked him and told him to have a nice day. I chalked it up to him being young and went on my way. Yesterday I had a similar experience with an older woman who rang me up. I said good morning and asked how she was doing and she too didn’t acknowledge it and then went to scan the large items in my cart. I offered to pick one up since the scanner was having issues and again nothing. Once my transaction was complete she too stood there and watched me bag my groceries. Another guest was waiting to be checked out and he asked me if I needed a hand. I declined as I was practically done and once I was done I thanked the cashier and told her to have a nice day. Maybe this is the norm? Is this what I should expect from associates at this store? Maybe I am expecting too much or things have changed since I worked as a cashier only a few...
Read moreI was at this giant Friday morning, they had crab legs on sale. Just in time for the holiday. I got 30lbs of snow crabs. from the time I put the crabs in my cart to the time I went to check out I was being watch. Not to mention this giant is my neighborhood market, I shop here about 3x a week. On the intercom, security was called to the front. I just had a feel it was for me because how the workers was looking at me while I was shopping. I get to the self checkout, security and the florist was standing at the front of the checkout line and watch me scan all my items. Florist came over to the machine because the store had to approve my order. I explained to her that I was upset because they was watching me as if I was stealing. She never apologize. I asked for manager and that's when Monica came. I feel like I was Racially profiled and I don't like it!!! Because of this I WILL NOT shop at any giant again!!! I'd rather pay more money at acme or Wegmans before I give this place my hard...
