Midland College — Local services in Midland

This place is the absolute worst! It's true, you get what you pay for. I took Spanish 3 and 4 online at Midland. The courses were fine and were completed in a timely manner. I have no problem with the classes. My problem is with the lackadaisical unprofessional, no sense of urgency administration, specifically those who run the registers office. As I mentioned, I took Spanish courses online. That was back in the summer of 2013. I have since graduated from Texas State University. I am in the process of applying to Graduate school to work on a masters of education degree, but these "lovely" people have placed a hold on my transcript because they apparently did not get a transcript from a Jr. college I went to after high school. Now, I specifically remember sending that transcript as well as the transcript from Texas State. As many of you may know, in order for someone to receive credit for a course, all documents must be submitted. Midland happily delivered the transcripts from their school to Texas State, and as I mentioned, I've since graduated, but now all of the sudden, they are claiming they never got my Jr. college transcript and refuse to send Wayland University my transcript for me to pursue higher education. I have spoken to 4 different people, including a Liz Zenteno. She was supposed to look into the issue a day ago and contact me... as you may have guessed, I have yet to hear back from her. I have called her now TWICE today, and have yet to hear back from her. The fact that these people can't even follow through with their JOB or their word is absolutely preposterous...

I very very very strongly recommend going to Odessa college instead of Midland College. It has taken me almost 4 years to complete a two year pre-rec course because I am having to miss two whole semesters equaling an entire year because of a mistake that the college made a book that was supposed to come out of my financial aid. I didn’t get charged for until an entire semester After the semester. I got the book in after I had already enrolled in another semester even they bring it up and say that it was never taken out a financial aid like it was supposed to be leaving that on the cashier or financial aid departments fault instead I got charged $600 for it being a single mother of two struggling as it is to even get back into school. I’m going to have to take another semester off because this whole just came back up after I was told it was removed after I went through this battle with them just a couple months ago comes time to register for classes again it’s back on my account. Housing at this college is not worth it. The staff does not care about you unless you are breaking policy. You cannot have your significant other over for the night unless you happen to be the same sex. There is no kitchen in the dorm building which forces you to eat at the campus dining. The staff will get flustered at you and not care about anything that conflicts with policy. No empathy is part of any decision, only policy. My girlfriend moved down for and internship and she could not stay in my dorm for the two days before she moved in and had to sleep in a car. The price is low becasue you get what...
