Mulberry Cafe — Restaurant in Midland

To start the service seems less customer service more of a hang out vibe . When walking in we were told to order at the table cayse there were 7 of us, "weird". The workers have a switch off and on of two different people who served us . Kinda annoying cause we gave our drink order twice. They still forgot about some of my party's drinks. The attentiveness of the staff to what you order is like talking to a 14 year old kid that doesn't know work ethic. Bathrooms look clean. Have a great ascetic to it. Food comes quick more for a fast food quickness. Kids cups arent a thing here they'll give you clear Togo cups. I will say some staff is respectful and up keep of drinks on point. Queso is kinda velveeta. Some meals are portioned very small. Kids Mac and cheese was one cup. Philly cheese subway was very small not messy . Forgot my wife's food ... her drink.... her lol. They were very respectful of our prayer before food. Philly was 4.5/10 on a burnt piece of penne toast .burgers are very lean . Burger was called rubbery by some of the party. A friend and I went in for lunch on 8-1-18. I ordered the ultimate nachos, they are supposed to come with Chili, queso, lettuce, tomato, Jalapenos, and guacamole. When I got the nachos the chili was missing. I flagged down a waitress and told her. She went back to the kitchen and brought back Jalapenos. I told her the chili was missing, she went back to the kitchen and said you have to ask for that. I told her it was on the menu. My friend brought a menu to the table and showed her. She went back to the kitchen and came back a few minutes later to tell me that the kitchen didn't know that they had to put chili on the nachos and would talk to the owner and apologized. I did try to eat some of the nachos but they weren't very good. The queso was Velveeta with no flavor and was a little watery. I sat my plate to the side and after about 10 minutes a waiter came by and took them asking if I wanted a refill on my drink. I said no and my friend said I needed a refund. The waiter asked if I wanted something else I said no. He would get the refund for me and found a manager. The manager came and said they forgot to order chili. She gave me a refund. TLDR-great potato chips, cute patio, weird customer service philosophy

This place is super cute and has a great little patio to sit with your dog. I do wish there was an option to order at your table instead of needing to leave your dog in the car or outside while you order, but that’s no big deal. Their house made potato chips are amazing and my strawberry lemonade refresher was super yummy. The staff members working the counter were extremely pleasant and helpful. However, what gave them the 2 star review was a super weird encounter. I ordered the veggie burger and added avocado. When I had my food delivered, there was no avocado. Since I had my dog and couldn’t go inside, I called and spoke with a team member. The team member apologized and said he would bring it out. Instead, I’m guessing the manager came out and said “she said she put the avocado inside.” So I basically had to deconstruct my burger to prove to her that in fact there was not avocado on my sandwich.
