I changed this to a five star rating from a 1 star rating and here's why. The food. I can not believe how good the food is. All of it. The produce is superb! Probably the best I've ever had that wasn't straight out of my own garden. I am picky, this is great fruit and fresh veggies. I was highly impressed with the packaged foods too. The jar of pickles I bought yesterday is gone. So are the grapes, tomatoes and even the potato chips. The cheap, off brand potato chips were BETTER than expensive name brands. I can't believe it. I never change ratings. But, this time, I had to and it is heartfelt. The inconvenience of no bags and the quarter for the cart is totally worth it! I will be going back! The original thoughts are below. That was written right after I got home and unloaded all the stuff that was in my car individually.
Never again. Had to have a quarter for basket, I do not carry cash, no warning about them not bagging your purchases. They wanted 11 cents per paper bag. I had to place $381.00 worth of individual groceries in my vehicle. Many generic and off brand items priced higher than brand named items at competitors. If I had known they were going to throw my groceries loose into the cart after scanning them, I would not have purchased $381.00 worth of food. Bread and chips were thrown on bottom of all the other stuff. Cashier informed me that she wouldn't have helped at all if I hadn't had so much. Nope. This is the Aldi store at 601 S. Air Depot, Midwest...
Read moreGreat products at low prices. Our whole family loves the products we buy here. There are a lot of gluten-free products here. The Aldi exclusive fiid brands are in many cases as good as the brand names or better. I would highly recommend this location and Aldi stores in general. Just keep in mind you will need to bring your own bags or a box to put your purchases in. They have bags for sale if you need them. Also, you will need a quarter if you want a shopping cart. This is one of the ways they reduce costs and can keep prices low.
Update: During the last few visits to this location the restrooms were dirty and the floors in the whole store needed cleaning. The wait to check out has also increased since past visits. For these reasons, the five-star star rating is being reduced from five stars to four stars.
Update for 12/9/23 visit: The produce looked good during this visit. This location was adequately stocked. The checkout process is still an issue taking far too long to complete. The lines are long and this location does not have enough staff to open a second register until the line is backed up causing traffic issues in the store. This location would benefit if Aldi would add a self-checkout option. The Shawnee Aldi has self-checkout which speeds up the...
Read moreSo. This is life under socialism. Snotty service, very limited selection, whole categories of foods missing (I dare you to find a can of soup), no amenities - all that was missing was someone demanding my behavior match their environmental political desires - oh, wait, I have to pay for shopping bags? Socialism complete.
Terrible. Worst shopping experience I've ever had. This is why we won World War II, because this German-owned company follows the National Socialist principle that customers are an inconvenience to be tolerated by the food apparatchik.
If you took the very-limited food aisle of a Family Dollar with it's off brands and dented products and somehow expanded it up to the size of a very small grocery store, but kept the same incompetent hateful clerks, that's what you get at Aldi.
The company viciously saves money, customers be darned. This the highest example of a predatory company only looking to line it's pockets without any regard for customers.
I went once, and with each trip into the the house as I unloaded the backseat of my car of it's loose pile of unbagged groceries, I vowed very sincerely - never again, never ever...
