I guess today just wasn't my day to visit especially for the first time. When you visit somewhere on an initial visit you have such high expectations and you want to try all these different items well at least I do. I pull in to the drive-thru and there are 3 cars in front of me so that is a good sign and I see a lady walk to the cars and taking orders. The line does move pretty quick though.
So now I am the second person in line and the lady comes to me and I say this is my first time here so you might as well come back this may take awhile. Then even before she walks away I start to ask her questions and boy am I glad I did because two of the things that I ask her about the Vegan Cinnabomb Bun and the Spinach Mushroom Quiche they were out of stock, she said to come back tomorrow that they should have it in.
I ended ordering a Caramel Silk, Passion Fruit Twist, and Vegan Spinach Mushroom Kolache. I thought that the passion fruit twist would have been sweeter than it was due to all the fruit in there and the puree but it really wasn't sweet at all, but in all fairness I did try it after the caramel silk . The kolache was not what I expected in a good way. First it was shaped different in a round circle. Then the breading has some kind of...
Read moreJust walking into the Open Flame Coffee Company + Roastery was a treat: the aroma made me want to inhale the entire place! Friendly baristas were on hand to provide a thorough explanation of the various conconctions for my first visit. One interesting thing about this Midwest City shop is the kiosk of varied and donated clean ceramic mugs available to borrow for your coffee during your visit. Just select one and when finished place it in the dirty dish bin. Otherwise you will be given your coffee in a paper/cardboard cup. I ordered an "Almond Swirl" blended coffee, a mix of mocha, almond and coconut topped with whipped cream. Very good! My two companions had an Americano coffee and a latte, respectively, and both were happy with their choices. There is also an array of delicious looking pastries to go along with your coffee. On this trip the only drawback for me -- and the only reason I gave out 4 stars instead of 5 -- was that the place was on the cool side temperature wise. However, the day was unseasonably warm so the a/c had been turned on. Seating is plentiful. There is also an outside patio on which to enjoy...
Read morePretty rough first trip... My sister ordered a drink and mentioned wanting it iced multiple times, but received it hot. He at least remade it, but put her drink at the end of the line. My girlfriend and mom both ordered a hot dirty chai, and instead of stealing the powder into the milk or mixing the drink, we found a layer of DRIED chai powder on the bottom of the cups. Not to mention the whole drink barely tasted like chai because it wasn't mixed. My dad ordered a drip coffee and was very sub par. Granted, Papau New Guinea roasts can be different as it is, but the coffee was just not very good. I ordered a shot of espresso and never received it. Not to mention they didn't have a bottle opener for my Topo Chico seltzer water that I ordered so he had to "try" to use the countertop to pop the top off. Overall, the quality was much lower than I expected for the rating, and our wait time for being a few of the only people in there was too long. Pretty...
