Update: The original owners and operators are up here at very different hours. The new cooks are still really good. I'm just bummed because they don't speak English well enough for me to explain how they would make Orange Chicken for me, only they'd make it using the sweet and sour pork bits, just mixing those in with the sauce. They also didn't leave out the spiciness so I had to come back and have them remake it. Crohn's is a butt. They did, however, make another for me, so they're still 5* I've been visiting this restaurant for some 25 years now. I started going there when they were in the old building across and slightly farther south on Air Depot. I've taken friends from out of state, family, even made it the location for the first date I took my now wife to. The flavor of their teriyaki seasoning is sweeter than most with a pleasant flavor of ginger draws all the flavors together in a much more pleasant unity then even higher end places I've been to. Their teriyaki beef is tender and flavorful, with their teriyaki chicken ruining all else for me. Their sweet and sour sauce doesn't possess the same level of bitterness others do, much to my delight. Egg rolls possesses a beautiful balance of ingredients and a gentle balance of pepper. The roll itself, both flaky and...it's just expertly cooked, is all. Their noodles are just that wonderful consistency if possessing form without it feeling like I'm having to chew and grind through some al dente pasta. They also pick up flavors from, say, the orange chicken, and blend to compliment whichever course you're settled on. Rice is always fluffy and at the perfect density for choo sticks. That said, I've had occasional visits where they've overseasoned or overcooked an item. In all instances, they made up for it and, ultimately, was just a fluke. They are wonderful, wonderful people and excellent at what they do. The place does need a bit of a makeover but, eh, the food easily beats a desire to have...
Read more——-UPDATE—— I originally gave them 5 stars years ago & I HATE to do this but we ALWAYS order big & spend a lot. The quality of food has gone WAY down. They’re still very nice people but we heavily suspect the food is frozen & lots of times its truly inedible as well as a total mess. It makes me sad but also upset because they’re apparently not tasting their own food or just don’t care. We love the owners but they truly need to step it up. The meats are extremely tough especially the ones in tempura ( it’s literally like eating hard chewy tooth breaking cardboard) for sweet & sour type sauces over them it’s like burned dried out meat inedible COVERED in sauces . Not fresh. I truly hate having to leave a bad review. I think maybe they’re trying to do things FAST when I’m sure everyone would agree we are willing to wait for GOOD food . Also they need a website where orders can be made online way ahead of time so they’re not pressed- and I do NOT mean a Facebook page! I refuse to go to restaurants who use Facebook as their “website “ . And one last thing the styrofoam containers they put the food in then overpack them in plastic Walmart type bags- our food consistently is ruined because the liquids of the dishes spills all in the bottom of the bags by time we get home making a huge mess to deal with. & we don’t even live far from their restaurant. ———Always good food at decent prices and the family that owns it is SO nice & friendly. Been going there for over 20 yrs now and they're always...
Read moreIt's been around for years and, prior to COVID, had the most quaint lunch buffet (like 3 total entrees available) that we'd visit on occasion. Well, those days are gone - they are strictly to go now days. Prices are still reasonable, though check your bill carefully bc even after she gave me an updated menu the total came out $6 higher than I expected. Typical Oklahoma Chinese fare... Too much breading, must entrees are chicken based, fried rice lacking and veggies, meat or egg. Still, there's a heartiness about it, filling, consistent and not a bank breaker. Remember, cash only and keep your windows up while waiting, the panhandlers...
