Nail Avenue — Local services in Mifflin Township

I called the shop before going to make sure that if I came at 6:30 pm it wouldn't be too late and they seemed fine, I got there at 6:34 and everyone was putting on their jackets. When I went in I asked if it was to late and they all looked around and then said no but then they started talking in a language I didn't understand. Starting to feel uncomfortable. They asked what I need I told them and told them how I was paying since that was their other question. Again speaking in a language I don't understand and I repeated if its a problem I can come back and they said no no no and then started speaking in a language I don't understand. Finally I just got up and left. I have never felt so uncomfortable about asking for a service I was paying for. The only reason I got there so late is because I work 2 jobs and I finally had a few moments to pamper myself and they made me feel horrible for it. I've been a customer here for the past few months & my mom has been coming for years. Fast service, quality work, & the prices are good. However, I just left from getting my nails done & I'm pretty sure I heard one of the nail techs make a racial comment about me. I worked at a Vietnamese nail salon for three years so I know some of the language. During my time working there, I heard the staff make MANY racist comments about black people so I know what it sounds like. It seems to be that way at most Asian salons. I'm biracial & as I was leaving nail avenue today, I heard one of them say the word "me-dang", which means "black" in their language. Honestly this place is the BOMB. I don’t usually write reviews but feel the need to leave one. I got my first mani pedi at nail ave when I was a kid with mom and have been going here practically my whole life. Any time I go ANYWHERE different I am always disappointed. Susan is an effing boss QUEEN that slays it every single time. Prices are super fair. Ive had a nail chip and I went back the next day and they didn’t want to receive my payment.
