Update: So hot today so I decided that I would go to Pizza Nerds for a pizza. Ordered a small pepperoni, mushroom and Hot Honey. Brent and Ellie were working today. I love coming here just for the simple fact that they are the most down to earth people. Love to discuss what is going on in the pizza world. Pizza came out and got in the car, OMG the aroma. Got home and got half the pizza out for today. The crust was nice n crispy on the bottom and sides. They use a phenomenal sauce with chunky tomatoes. Gives it a really fresh taste. The pepperoni crisps up nicely. I believe the mushrooms are sautĂ©ed in oil, super tasty. Then you add the Hot Honey. Puts it off the chart. I love coming here just for the people. Today it was Brent (The Owner) and Ellie (Kitchen Manager). You get to feel like one of the family and that's the way it should be. Love you guys!!!! Went on a 25 minute trip to Newark to check out Pizza Nerds. Met the owners Brent and Kaitlyn also Elli-Kitchen Manager. Everyone joined in explaining the business and history behind it. You can tell they’re a very close family. The business started as a Food Truck and on to brick and mortar. On to the food. Ordered a pepperoni, mushroom with hot honey on it. The pizza is a variation of Detroit style pizza. The crust isn’t cooked as much of crunchiness as Detroit style. They use a chunky tomato sauce. It’s so off the charts as far as freshness and flavor. They put a fair amount of cup n char pepperoni on top with some super fresh mushrooms. Add the Mike’s Hot Honey drizzled on top. This pizza will change your life. OMG!!!! They’re just killing it!!!! You want the BEST, travel the 25 minutes and get some of the best pizza around. All the memorabilia is cool too.

Pizza Nerds is a special one of a kind pizza place that is definitely worth going to at some point. Pizza Nerds has their 'gimmick' which is the 80-90s appeal, which is noticed by their interior, logo, and the pizza option names. I got 'The Mario' which is Pepperoni, Banana Pepper and Honey; the pizza was incredibly flavorful and not too sweet. The crust was cripsy not crunchy or soggy, the pizza had a lot of grease so make sure to eat this with plenty of napkins. The cookies are also one of a kind and are on level with another Columbus 10/10 place Lion Cub cookies, seriously these cookies might even be worth the drive alone. Which brings me to the next point to consider, the drive. This place would do so much better closer to Columbus in a location like Easton, Downtown, or even Grandview Heights; its a complete shame that this pizza place is around a 40 minute drive from downtown locations, even farther if you are on the west side! Add to that you cant do a set time on Saturdays so if you want to order ahead you might want to have the passenger do it while you're driving. All in all its worth a visit but due to the far drive it might be more of a special occasion place rather than a regular place which is a shame since this might be the best pizza around

This place is AWESOME 👌 honestly, I'm kinda surprised this isn't located on campus in Columbus and that we're lucky enough to have an amazing pizza joint in town. But seriously if you haven't tried it yet, DO! This is my partner and my favorite pizza place in town. It's quickly became our ONLY pizza place in town! The pizza crust isn't too thick or thin so it's very filling. It has that deep dish crust effect without the super thick inconvenience. It's just right. And the sauces and ingredients are elevated and homemade which you can totally tell the quality is superb. The cookies are just as great, too. It's all worth every penny and one large pizza will fill up 3-4 people easily. We get ours split into two specialty types when we order (they'll do any type half and half even if the sauces are different) which is awesome that they do that because most pizza places are not cool like that. I love the Captain Planet and Big Daddy and my boyfriend looooves the cheeseburger pizza one. The atmosphere and people are chill and friendly and ready going individuals so you always feel welcomed and listened to. I really hope this gem stays as awesome as they are right now. If you haven't tried it, YOU'RE MISSING OUT! They have deals every month so check it out (found them on Instagram and Facebook) and see it...
