If I could give a 0 star rating, I would. This was by far THE WORST furniture place Iāve ever been to. I ordered furniture back in October 2020 for almost $5000. I was very kind, polite and patient and was told due to COVID, Iād get everything mid-November, early December. Early November came, nothing showed up, nobody called. I asked for an update and they said due to COVID, it was delayed again. I was patient, I said I understand. Mind you, I ordered a full room set for me and my daughter, a dining table with 6 chairs, and a sectional. So throughout this whole time (6-7 months), I had 3 different shipping experiences. For my first shipment, they gave me a coffee table that was included with the sectional and my daughters room set. A knob was missing off her dresser. I had to wait UNTIL LAST MONTH to get the replacement knob. No big deal, it was something little. The second time they came it was my king set. THEY (Peter/Owner) wrote down the wrong foot board to come with the headboard so I told them to take it back. When it came to my dresser, THEY TOOK IT OUT OF THE BOX AND IT WAS BROKEN. I told Peter I wanted to return it and just get my money back. He says to be nice, heāll give me $100 refund and Iād get everything in a month. A month came along and I didnāt hear anything. I kept calling about twice a week and had no updates. I finally got a call that my couch was in and we scheduled a day. When the movers got there, I realized it looked too small. I asked the movers if it was the right shipment because it looked WAY TOO SMALL and they said yes. So whatever, I let them bring it into my house. NOPE it wasnāt right. Instead of a sofa and a chaise, THEY ORDERED ME ONE LEFT CHAISE AND ONE RIGHT CHAISE. At this point I was frustrated. I said take it out of my house. I called Peter instantly and told him I want a refund ASAP and the refund for the king set because I still havenāt gotten anything. He said I could get a refund for the couch, but couldnāt for the king sent because it was en-route to Sclamoās already and I could schedule a shipping date in a week. I said ok, fine. The week came and I asked to get it shipped. They said no because theyāre trucks were too filled so I couldnāt do it that week. I asked the next week and they said yes. I called again and they said that they didnāt even have my entire set. At that point, I was furious. I wanted my refund ASAP and Peter finally says okay. Throughout every single phone call, I was patient and understanding but he would ALWAYS make an excuse and say itās not his fault or Sclamoās fault. I never once blamed them. I told them I understood it was due to COVID. They werenāt polite; they didnāt want to help us in any which way. $100 didnāt help us in any way at all. I would never go back to them ever again, and if you get the chance, run as fast as you can away from there. ALSO, thereās a lady that works there that I have never met but every time she answers the phone, sheās a complete B*TCH. She was rude, impolite, and seems like she has never worked in the Customer...

Their prices were superior, we had a salesman all to ourselves and I don't have to worry about the "Oh you bought this from big box chain X, that means..." jerk around should anything go wrong.
It's a local mom & pop. Apparently they survive by providing value, by their loyal local following. I mean something must keep them in business versus the millionaires. So I'll join the chorus and award the 5 stars as our actual buying experience was so straight forward it required few heroics by which Sclamos staff could prove themselves. That is, we already knew what we wanted (all Whirlpool) based primarily on reliability ratings from Consumer Reports - keep the feature bloat please. There was no problem getting what we wanted in classic white - versus soon to be out of fashion stainless.
My wife first bought the refrigerator which was delivered the day before Thanksgiving as promised providing somewhere to put the fresh 32 pound locally sourced turkey. Kind of critical for the 22 guests arriving next day. I think we paid $20 for them to swap the still good kitchen fridge into the garage. The removal of the garage fridge with the death rattle and of course delivery of new one were included in the price.
Here's the one surprise though. My wife (a blessing she is in my life) was shopping a $50 off black Friday sale. Little did I realize - not sure Sue did either - there were actually two $50 discounts, a manufacturer rebate plus a Scalmos sale price. But here's the kicker, while discussing the considerable challenge of scheduling a delivery with two people working full time, I said I'd simply come pick the appliances up on Saturday - as weekend deliveries weren't offered. First they advertise that if you buy two fridgedaire items you get a rebate but donāt include the fine print that they have to be two different items. Next I buy two gas stoves because I have a 3 family and again I pick them up to save money. I pick them up and carry them upstairs and have a plumber waiting only to find out they are electric stoves. I call and they advise me they canāt deliver until noon two days later. Itās after noon so I call to get an estimated time frame and Iām told between 1-5. I advise I was told noon and the answer is well I donāt know who told you that. No offer to discount the price for my aggravation. No offer to correct this as soon as possible at any time. And instead of taking responsibility for their lack of quality control they blame the manufacturer for the whole thing Never never ever again will I shop there. Buyer beware save yourself some aggravation and go somewhere else!!!
Part 2 of my review. I finally received my stoves and I opened the box and one was damaged we tried to call to discuss but the phones werenāt working so we had to drive over. We have a plumber coming in the morning and asked if we could get our stove in the morning we were told the earliest was Friday. So not only is there no quality control at their warehouse but no one took a lesson in customer service. They have 49 stoves in stock but wouldnāt ensure one was delivered to me tomorrow.
