Update below :/ Favorite italian place in Massachusetts! The specials are always on point..flavorful and delicious! The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is laid back and welcoming. 10/10 recommend eating here. So far I have had the prime rib, lobster ravioli, lobster florentine, and fish & chips on the specials menu. On the regular menu ive had shrimp scampi..all were very tasty.
UPDATE: For the last 4 times or so I received takeout from this restaurant, I have been thoroughly disappointed. This used to be my favorite Italian restaurant but now I can’t say that. I don’t know if it’s just the take out that is slacking now or if dine in is slacking as well. I have not dined in the restaurant for quite some time now. However these past few months I have gotten take out and the quality has been poor. I ordered a rice seafood medley dish in which I was given ONE small piece of lobster, ONE shrimp, a few scallops and a lot more clams. The rice was the worst part however because it was noticeably undercooked. Another time I ordered mussels which when I bit into them a green thick content came out that tasted awful and I had to spit it out immediately and sadly throw the dish away. Even more disappointing about it is that mussels are my favorite seafood. I also had ordered a lobster Alfredo dish in which the restaurant was very skimpy on the amount of lobster in the dish and the flavors were unusually lacking. It is very sad to see this happen because takeout used to be spectacular as well as dine in. I don’t know what’s going on in the kitchen for take out customers but it is surely disappointed and...
Read moreWe have been here to eat dinner before and it has been pretty alright. We are part Italian so nothing compares to our family cooking ,however there are some really pretty good places we’ve been to. But today we brought our older parents and the family we all went to celebrate my Mom’s Birthday. I don’t like to complain a lot but we paid a pretty good amount of money and some of the dishes didn’t taste good or enjoyable. I got the chicken Marsala and left most of the dish .My brother didn’t like his chicken parmigiana meal and my father wasn’t too excited about the spaghetti and meatballs. The waiter was pleasant and the hostess was alright but nobody came around to ask or check on us for anything like a refill or see how everything was.To me that’s not a good sign if you don’t check on the people in your restaurant. I think if anyone eats at a restaurant the waiter or even hostess should check up and see how everything is. I don’t know If I’ll ever return here or my family either. The prices were $20 something per meal and we have had tastier meals I’d say from a recent vfw or even Tony’s on route 146 was even better and they’re good but they’d get a ribbon over the food and service we had for today. It would be nice if someone replied to this from the restaurant.Either way I’m planning on calling them.I don’t know if they have any good cooks there who know how to cook good quality...
Read moreI was amazed by the total lack of empathy or concern when my 5 year old daughter, my wife and I had sat down on one side of a booth to which we were escorted by the hostess and the cushioned bench we were sitting on collapsed. We are, by no means, heavy-set individuals; we are all average sized people with weight that is typical for our age and body-types. I grazed the back of my heel with the wood shard that popped from the bench. Luckily my daughter or wife were not injured. Not a single employee apologized for their obviously out-dated, rickety furniture; nor, did ANY employee show concern for our well-being. They acted as if we did a disservice to them for sitting on the bench when it collapsed from underneath us. Italian food is supposed to make you feel warm and Italian restaurants should make you feel welcome and be inviting. None of us in our party did not get this sense at all! By the way we were treated, we didn't even want to stay to taste the food. We had decided that if the food was anything like the staff that would serve it...then, most likely, it would have been bitter, cold and tasteless! La Cucina gets one star because I'm required to give at least one star to submit this review. That is one star...
