The Red Balloon Toy Store — Local services in Millcreek

I visited your Salt Lake store recently and I'm extremely disappointed. If I didn't know better, from regular visits to the Sandy location, I would think you were going out of business. The employees lacked enthusiasm, and were more involved in their own conversations to help me. Their talking also took priority over organization, stalking, and keeping the store clean. The shelves had many empty spots, items were misplaced, with no urgency to fix. There was a mess of popcorn in a corner completely ignored. My child needed to use the bathroom and the small walk way leading to it was stacked with items, and could prove to be dangerous in an emergey situation. Items on high shelves were turned upside or sideways, so I had no idea what they were. Empty displays, and displays that were unorganized were frustrating to navigate.

This should be a great store that values it's customers. I recently made several purchases, one of them an inexpensive umbrella. Upon first use, one of the metal spokes snapped. We tried to examine the structure and repair it and a second one broke. It is basically junk. My complaint is that the very nice sales person called the owner to see if I could just exchange for another one and the owner questioned whether we misused it and would not allow a return or exchange. They could probably send it back to the company that makes them. I recognize that it was a $9.99 product and that amount will not make or break either the store or me, the customer. The principal of not standing by something they are selling or their customers floored me. I shopped at Red Balloon for both of my now grown children but I will not be back for my grandchildren. We loved the selection they offer. The staff is super helpful and know how to play the games they offer. Their prices are good and they offer quality products. If your looking for toys that tap into your children's imagination, problem solving or artistic nature they have something. The games were really cool they even have a dinner murder mystery game that's great for groups....
