Before I get into the phenomenal pros about over the counter… I unfortunately want to address the one thing I disliked on my visit today. I always get excited for the excellent well cooked authentic food at OTC. But, watching bare hands touch food I pay to inhale in my body and to satisfy my health and body really is a crucial upset.
I always love to cook and the fundamentals we learn about being a proper cook really is taken as an understatement, overlooked and neglected in some places. OTC is one I sadly have to address. Specifically for the Owner to know. For a tip of being more mindful and considerate the the food we exchange to each other should be taken seriously. We all want to take care of ourselves as healthy as possible. I feel that cooks should always wear ‘GLOVES’. To me personally that is just common sense. Being open minded for others. Putting ourselves in others shoes. Gloves should be THE standard and mandatory nothing less as cooks. Especially when witnessing one coming in contact with their hand and nose as they cook.
I pay attention to everything in detail. That is the only thing that I feel should be taken more seriously for customers.
Aside from that, OTC is a phenomenal Diner. Food is always top quality. Authentic. They always seat me within 5-10mins of waiting. Every single server is positive, respectful, and always checking in with the customers. Making sure that each and every one of them are satisfied...
Read moreI’ve heard great comments about this place from a few friends and I was really excited to try it. Service was only fair and food took for ever to come out and it didn’t all come out at the same time. I waited an extra 5+ minutes for my vegetarian omelet and French toast and when it finally came out it was clearly made hastily (probably because they messed up the first one) and over cooked. I like the idea of the crispy home style potatoes but they were so dry and had absolutely no seasoning on them. After all the food finally came out the server never came back to see how everything was. Dropped the food and I never saw her in the dining room after that. Thank goodness for the busser who was killing it btw and made time to stop by and make sure my boyfriend and I were okay. He is a great asset to your business and I hope he gets tipped well because he ran CIRCLES around everyone else. And I might understand all of this a little bit more if it was REALLY busy but it was not that busy at all. Towards the end of my experience all I could focus on was how this place was being operated and I saw many opportunities for improvements. Just not the best experience and maybe it was just and off day but I’m willing to give it another try because people speak so highly...
Read moreI work for big o and we all like to buy breakfast from over the counter every once in a while and sometimes pay with a few separate orders (thinking it wouldn't be a big deal since other restaurants we order from have no problem at all doing this little favor for us). When I had called in to place my order I started to see that after a while they began to make me feel like I was putting them out by placing the order and that maybe they don't want my business at all. However, I just shrugged it off thinking maybe I was just over exaggerating because I thought the employees were for the most part friendly to me. But today they showed me that I wasn't imagining anything because we ordered our usual breakfast and they all of a sudden have a policy that states you cant split orders on the weekends because they are busy and the lady at the counter seemed irritable and not very nice to put it plainly. It truly sucks they are going to lose an entire shop of employees as customers (and I have been going there since I was a kid) because every once in a great while they have to split an order. Well at least I know of many other restaurants in the area that don't mind helping us out when we decide we want to bring them business without making me feel like I am...
