Stopped in town and wanted to grab some hot foods to go. Always saw the owner post photos on their FB page and decided to check it out. Did not disappoint.
I got khaopoon, papaya salad, kalapaos, sausage w/sticky rice, and steamed rolls. I think they make a lot of the food that morning just before the store opens up (which I appreciate bc I could grab some items to then catch my train out of town). Thus, the khaopoon broth had turned cold and the sticky rice/sausage was lukewarm at best. However, both were still very delicious and flavorful. The star was their papaya salad. They had some in their little refrigerated section already made if you like mild, but if you want to customize your papaya salad and taste it before they serve it to you, you can also ask them to make a fresh batch for you. For 8.99, the serving is generous (comes in a 32 of container) and the flavor is on point. The only con was their kalapaos. Lots of bun, not a lot of filling. I should've known from seeing how flat they looked lol, but it satisfied a craving I had for them. There is still so much to choose from and I appreciate the variety of hot foods they have available (pork and chicken w/sticky rice, Korean corn dogs, fried pork dumplings, angel wings, nam khao, etc.). There's so much more I wanted to buy and try but thats for next time Im in town so definitely give it a try.
But their groceries though. You honestly have everything you need and being Hmong, its a one-stop shop for me. If I was living in Milwaukee and on the north side, Id probably stop by every week lol. Fresh produce to frozen goodies and all the seasonings and condiments and dried goods you'd probably want for Asian cooking can and will...

2024 Came by again. Pretty busy. Workers are really nice. All kids of customers. Very busy. Plenty of hot food to try. Self serve or full service.
2023 First time coming here. Saw the advertisement on Facebook. Very clean place. Nice workers. The owners are always nice and want to know you. I found a lot of my pho stuff here, so they know their pho! Good. Good pricing too. Not crazy high. The fresh cooked food was also a plus. I bought a lot of food to try. FYI, the chicken and rice is spicy. Papaya was decent. Lots of Thai food options. For now, this place is good.
This store is very competitive with "5xen Super Asian Market" and "Hmong Town" but lacks the clothes, meds, and Hmong stuff. Other than that, I hope this places improves and perfects on their food. Good luck.
FYI, "Hmong Town" is very DIRTY and "5xen Super Asian Market" ... for now "5xen Super Asian Market" is the store to beat. When I come back, I hope to see the same thing or...

UPDATE on 11/23/23 (Thanksgiving): after a huge thanksgiving lunch, my wife and I wanted an easy dinner for later in the evening. We picked up some prepared BBQ from Mong Teng, which included some type of sausage, a bacon analogue, and sticky rice. We added some egg rolls made with vermicelli and went to town. Everything was great, although we didn't use the sauce that it came with as it was too spicy (and we like spice) and heavy on cilantro, which tastes like soap to me. Sriracha was a tasty substitute.
Very satisfying, we'll definitely be back when we need an easy,...
