I had a pretty crummy experience at June today, and it seems consistent with what other reviewers have said.
I went in with about 15 Karen Millen dresses and blazers, sizes 8 and 6, freshly dry cleaned and in very good condition. The owner (I assume she was the owner) looked them over while I looked around the store. When I went back up to the front, all she said was, âIâll pass.â I was a bit surprised, so I said, âCan I ask why?â She said, âThey have a strong dry cleaning smell, so maybe if you put them in the backyard or something.â (I smelled them again and I honestly donât smell anything, but whatever.) I said, âOkay, so if I do that⌠is there anything here youâd take? Because I donât want to do all of that and lug everything back and youâre just not interested.â She very curtly said, âI donât know, I didnât really look.â
No smile, no âthanks for coming in.â (Her associate who was working there was nice.)
The whole time, she was just very curt and abrasive with me. And even though I was there to try to sell clothes, if she had treated me like that if I had walked in there to buy clothes, I would have NEVER bought anything from her. I definitely would have felt unwelcome and walked out.
My negative review is not based on her decision not to buy my clothes. Thatâs totally her decision - I was disappointed, but thatâs fine. My negative review is based on how she treated me. I felt she was very rude to me the whole time. I will not try to sell anything there anymore, nor will I go in to buy anything either.
(The owner will probably do a reply on this review, and thatâs fine. I believe that my review is objective of what happened, and readers can make their...
Read moreExactly what other reviewers have said. VERY WEIRD VIBE. I have a closet full of high end designer things... many that I bought in Paris directly from the high end fashion brands like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Louboutin, etc. I asked about consigning and the owner acted like I was applying to a membership of an exclusive club and I was bothering her. She was very snarky with me. I asked what percentage she typically pays and she would not answer. She acted like I was not good enough to sell my things there. I came back and got the same vibe only stronger the second time. It just made me feel really uncomfortable and unwelcome. I am also really put off by stores that only cater to women who don't have day jobs. The hours reflect this. The prices in the store are also ridiculous. A used Chanel mini flap bag for $5,800? That is about 1K over retail! Some of her things are beautiful but way overpriced and I will take my business where it is wanted. In fact, I walked down the street and got a completely different experience being welcomed at the competition who had a waiting list of months because they...
Read moreThey had a very narrow selection with most items being in the small to extra small range. I had read some concerning reviews about how they acquired items, so I decided to try and sell a few things before buying anything. I donât like to buy from resellers that treat the sellers poorly. I found a few items I wouldâve been interested in had the treatment I received been anything other than haughty and rude. I believe it was the owner and she insulted the items I had brought in and was downright nasty. I certainly wouldâve understood if she just wasnât interested in the items. I just do not understand why she had to be cruel. Needless to say, I didnât buy anything and I certainly will never try and resell anything there. Itâs disappointing because Iâve had some great experiences buying resold items, but I certainly wonât do any of...
