Let me set the scene for you:
February 14th 2022 - the day all couples look forward to, Monday.
A man bought wheels and tires for his truck, his wife looked on, longing for a piece of jewelry that would shine as bright as he perfectly polished truck did.
A man brought his wife to the Twin Cities BEST Jeweler, who is that you ask? No worries: The radio commercials will remind you about every 15 minutes, its Shane Company, in Minnetonka at 394 & Hopkins Crossroads.
As man and wife made their way through the awful drivers around the Hopkins Crossroads area, (talking about you silver Toyota Sienna that doesn't know how to cross three lanes of traffic), they pulled into the inviting parking lot of Shane Co.
They donned their medical grade blue masks (still required apparently) and were greeted by the nicest person in the store (Kate). Kate asked, would you be looking for fashion jewelry or wedding jewelry?
Man pondered, he was already married, is this a trick question? Was his prior choice of engagement ring not good enough.. was it, to small.. wife jumped in "Fashion Jewlery," man sighed with relief, and followed wife to the right side of the store.
Once in, the bright stones of emeralds, rubies, diamonds, and many other naturally earth mined diamonds sparkled back, each yearning for their chance to be plucked from the bright clear cases inside the store walls.
The story at this point takes a disappointing turn, but only for a moment. The man and wife were initially helped by a young female, but she got pulled away by her sales manager to help a different couple in the wedding section. (Apparently Fashion Jewelry is where the second class citizens hang out).
...Fast forwarding through awkward exchanges with the female sales manager, who seemed disinterested in answering the basic questions, and lets get to the good part...
Blake: Oh blakey, the Assistant Sales Manager, was fantastic. Blake took the time to understand man and wife, to ask basic, clarifying questions that got their choices narrowed down. Wonderful Blake, don't change.
As Blake was helping us sort our options, in walks.. wait for it...
Kate! (The one who greeted man and wife! -- plot twist I know)
Kate and wife shared many similar interests and energy. Kate single handily made this the best jewelry shopping experience wife has ever had. Kate's understanding of fashion jewelry, her interpersonal skills, and her patience was above and beyond what stores usually offer.
Shane Co. is in good hands as long as Blake and Kate stick around.
As man and wife made the final choice, (with Kate's approval of course) and time at Shane Co. was coming to a very happy end, mans mind slipped back to the beginning, what else can he buy for his truck... so that wife gets to come back to Shane Co. and they can do this whole experience...
Read moreShane co. is the best jewelry store out there period! My husband looked for my wedding ring all over and other places were not right or didn't have as good of quality for the price. When we walked into Shane co. we saw it had the highest service and they truly cared about their customers. Paula helped us and she we so amazing! They worked with us each step of the way to get everything perfect, even helping pick out and shipping up a sapphire from another store just so I could look at it cause we couldn't afford a diamond at that time. We bought both mine and my husband's wedding rings here 3 years ago. This past September I brought my ring in to get checked out and found out one of the prongs was loose, during that time my husband worked behind the scenes with Paula to surprise me and replace it with a diamond I had my eyes on. They worked hard and got the main people of the company involved to make it work and surprised me for our anniversary. I love how far they will go to make your dream work! That's what I love about this place. They want dreams to come true, they care, they put real quality into their work, everything is a special experience, and the service is incredible!
My husband also purchased a pearl necklace from Shane co. for Christmas. My sister also got her wedding ring this year and the main jeweler came out to discuss turning the prongs and making her vision work too which others said could not be done. And my best friend also got her wedding ring made here last year after I told her about the amazing service we had experienced. I have visited many times and each time they have been amazing. Each experience we got treated with the highest respect even when we had questions they spent lots of time explaining things. You can see the quality in their work and it's nice to have the lifetime free ring sizing and tightening of any prongs to keep the ring from loosing diamonds, plus all included care of your jewelry, plus if you loose any they will pay for it and put new ones in for free to replace the old ones that's how far they stand behind their products. The touches of candy and coffee in the store are nice and welcoming too. I love how wonderful they truly are and we will be customers for life. There is no where better to go...

My fiancee and I stopped in on 2/26 to shop for an engagement ring. I had looked online, so I knew what I was looking for. Unfortunately, the site had neither the setting or stone (size/cut) I wanted. The man helping us was great (I can't recall his name), and let us know that he would order in the setting and stones for us. He asked if Tuesday or Wednesday would work to come back. We let him know Tuesday would be better, as we live over 40 miles away and had a commitment on Wednesday. He did let us know to not come in until we had received a phone call that the items had arrived. My fiancee did call late Tuesday afternoon. He was told the items were not in and instructed not to call again. He was assured that he would receive a phone call immediately once everything had been delivered. Wednesday came and went, no call. Thursday and Friday, no call.
I decided to call Saturday morning, as we still hadn't received a phone call. After being on hold for several minutes, the employee informed me that everything was there. When I asked why no one had called us, even though we were reassured that we would, and especially after being instructed NOT to call the store. He informed me that some of the items had been placed in an incorrect drawer, that's why no one had called us. I asked if he realized that this is really poor customer service. He stated that, yes, it is, but stated this doesn't happen often, so it really isn't a big deal. When I mentioned that we are now having second thoughts about purchasing at this store due to this error. Also, that there are several other reviews of customers who had the same issue, he attempted to back pedal to say that these complaints were invalid and "mostly customers who had been given a pickup date and time and didn't receive a phone call." I asked if he could have the manager call my fiancee, since he didn't seem to be taking this seriously at all.
My fiancee was able to finally speak with the manager on Monday afternoon (3/6). No apologies for the mixup. Apparently we should be thankful for the "privilege" of being able to purchase at Shane Co. Needless to say, we will be taking our...
