Elation at Baytowne Wharf by Panhandle Getaways — Local services in Miramar Beach

Considering i payed a pretty penny for this room, horrible is an understatement. The room was basic and bland as ever. The online photos had to be enhanced. The balcony is super tiny, there was literally no room to stand or even put a chair, and there is no real “lobby”. The garage is completely small and cannot accommodate even one car for ALL the rooms available. Not to mention the hassle of even getting access to the garage. Nobody on site to assist, people misdirect you back and forth. We drove around until 2:30am looking for parking because the customer service rep said we “had” to park in the garage for elation🙄. Us and three other cars and some ended up parking illegally for the night. We opted to park outside but had a long walk to get to the elevator and our room. When i in got in the room finally, the AC was locked on 74 and extremely hot as it is summer and 85 degrees outside. We had to wait all night in a hot room until the next morning to get assistance. Then the sink was leaking from the bottom so we had to use some of out towels to wipe the floor. The rest went towards our shower. When we called and asked for new towels they told us no we only get one set of towels per stay. They dont change the towels each day. That is nasty and just plain indecent in my opinion. Their response was for me to go wash the towels. The towels AND sheets all have stains on them in multiple different spots. Some red, brown, black stains. Its just a horrific sight. I've been to Destin every year of my life. This was hands down the WORST accommodations I've ever experienced. The room was so sparsely furnished that everything echoed. There must have been zero insulation in the walls. Every time the person next to us opened the microwave it sounded like I was opening the one in my room. The beds and pillows were so uncomfortable that I am sore from head to toe. We were promised daily maid service. It was not received until I called for it. The air conditioning unit was exceptionally loud. The thermostat clicked when it turned on and then the unit itself whined so loudly that it woke me every time it cycled on. Not to mention the "balcony" was a place just big enough to step out on, but barely! No room for a chair to relax or anything. Plus, the 10 am check out time is exceptionally ridiculous. This is place for owners to simply receive an income without any care for the experience for the person renting the space. You'd think a resort like Sandestin would have minimum standards, but obviously they feel perfectly comfortable allowing for someone to spend $295/night to come home exhausted. For a better experience, I'd recommend checking out the Sea Oats Motel or your closest...

Great vacation. I am glad we are technically at Sandestin Resort and require the pass to get on property. Once on property I really enjoyed the QR code to get into the parking garage. You actually park under which ever property you are at and the elevator takes you right into the property. Gorgeous view of the bay, the golf course and sunrise and sunsets.
