The merchandise is great, but I went here expecting great service like when I went to University Park Hot Topic when I lived in the area quite a few years ago. The staff used to be cool and friendly but I only felt slighted and insulted this time.
Let me explain my experience. I got in line to make my purchase, which when I discovered two people ringing customers up, I asked the one guy around the counter area if he was in line, and he replied yes, so I made sure he was in line before me. The girl behind the counter asked who is next and the blue haired male worker at the other register said the guy in front of me, so she helped him get a shirt, and I waited in to be rung up. She then got back and proceeded to ring up two other people that just walked up to the register while I tried patiently to wait in line, without the blue haired guy saying anything about helping me. Finally, the blue haired guy gets done with a lengthy customer and asks me cash or plastic, and I say cash, which only at this point he informs me that he is unable to do, so I must be helped by the girl. I glare over at her helping the second person that was not there before me, and drop my merchandise on the counter and replied forget it.
To summarize, this place gave me very poor customer service, and I will not be returning to this Hot Topic location anymore. All of the other University Park stores I went to gave excellent customer service, and I wish I wasn't disappointed in this one because I have such fond...

But it was after this, while we were browsing the store, that we kept getting bugged every two seconds, and it's not like it's a big store either. It's small enough to see that someone had just asked us if we were ok. You dont have to check literally a minute later. It wasn't busy, and most of our max 7 minute stay, there were two, maybe 3 other customers. I even had some products in hand, almost ready to check out, when yet another person, for probably the 7th time, came up asking if they could look up our rewards while we were finishing deciding. We got fed up with the hovering and claustrophobic surroundings that i just put everything up and walked out without buying a thing. I've worked in retail, and checking up with the customers is fine. It's part of the job, but not breathing down the paying customer's neck. I'm very disappointed because there was a lot of good finds here, but I'd rather not...

I was checking to see if my order had arrived yet. It had not, so I said I would call that other store to make sure that they did forward it to the right store.
