Read moreFirst of all, someone made up a rumor and posted it and I’ve heard that same rumor for years. This store has always had friendly staff for decades now. People love going there to the pharmacy, deli, e-cart, meat is always good too. Every store in Modesto has lines. The poster who for some strange reason four months ago must have been extremely agitated with the clerk with the shaved head and pony tail. Yes, he was talkative and friendly. I would much rather have that experience than some of the experiences that I’ve had at other grocery stores in the same area. If you want to be treated rudely and with disrespect, don’t go to Raley’s. If you like people and want feedback on groceries and sales, go there. The people are really hard working and enjoy helping their customers.I have never had a rude experience there in over 35 years. However, I have seen people who are rude and cranky who cut in line and hate anyone who talks to them. As for rumors. Raley’s is always busy and it’s doing very well. I would also like to add that people should not shopping around with backpacks in any store. I’ve seem with my own eyes how things can quickly go in the wrong direction. Very happy they have security and the lot is always clean. Of course if a sudden rush of people show up, it will take time for them to clear out. Believe me, if I have a bad experience at ANY establishment I will let the...
Read moreI try not to give low reviews, but this place absolutely deserves it. I heard they're finally going to be closing and putting something else in there, thankfully. I have no idea how a place that charges so much and is constantly busy cannot afford to higher more staff. It's either poor management from higher up or just complete greed. Either way, it's just a horrible experience to shop there. Checking out always takes at least 10+ minutes, even if every person only has a few items because their cashiers want to endlessly talk. I'm warning you, if the cashier is this younger guy with most of his head shaved and a weird ponytail, avoid him at ALL costs! I've been in his line with 2 people in front of me and waited almost 20 minutes because he doesn't understand other people don't want to talk, they just want to buy their stuff and leave. The only person who seems to do an okay job checking out is the manager, but even he still likes to gab. The whole reason why one would shop at a store like Raley's over Winco, or Target over Walmart, is that the increased price is supposed to ensure better service. This is not the case with Raley's. If you're shopping here for anything other than an item you need right away, it is cheaper and faster to...
