Fire Wings — Restaurant in Modesto

Food was cold when we waited over 15 mins for our food (it was slow at this time too), staff seemed pretty cool but talk freely amongst one another in front of customers right by the soda machine, and the food was gross. I ordered a chicken sandwich and it was heavily breaded. More fried parts than meat. Tasted more like dust. Spent almost $50 (that’s including a 20% tip). It’s a hype nothing more. Go to McDonald’s instead. ONLY thing we enjoyed was the zucchini sticks—woulda still been better if we had warmer food. A worker also had his backpack on and sweater over his shoulder while walking in and out of the kitchen. They all need more training. We saw another worker serve beer and it overflowed and went onto his fingers while handing it to the customer. He just apologized and carried on. I shoulda have a gotten a refund but was so fed up with being there. NOT worth the money...

I would suggest not ordering here. We placed an order for some wings on door dash with a ready time of 15 minutes. Arrived after 20 and inquired about our order. The employee asked the kitchen with a laugh, "im afraid to even ask but what's the time on the last order." Then comes over and tells me 10 to 15 minutes. In the meantime we are getting texts saying it was ready for pick up. Since my wife had an order from west coast sourdough that was ready I didnt want to have her wait even longer to eat cold food. I requested it be canceled and the employee couldn't do it. Took another few minutes to get a manager who said; you want to cancel the order. Yes. Ok sorry I can't help you it was through door dash. We go to cancel through door dash and it again says it's ready and now we have to fight for a refund for food that wasn't even made but they said was ready. Go to wing...

Wanted to try Fire Wings again... had been about 4 years since my last time in Hayward. Took my son with. Beware of the Fire Fries. No very flavorful however look delicious. Slathered in a Buffalo-type of pepper sauce. Way too hot for the sake of "hot", but with no delicious flavor. The "Nashville Hot" sandwich would probably have been better had I not already eaten the fries first. The chicken looked like a hamburger patty - same color. Super DEEP FRIED and greasy. Normally I would have liked it anyway, just like i like carnival fried foods, but the the fries ruined it for me.

Gonna try Fire Wings again probably. I have high hopes... just think I ordered wrong this time.

Service was amazing.
