Fareway Meat and Grocery — Local services in Moline

If I could give more than five stars, I would. We have always gotten meat from Fareway, but only Jewel seems to have a specific brand of deli meat we like. Went to Jewel Thursday night to get that, before the deli was supposed to be closed, and a typical rude, lazy “worker” told us sorry, already cleaned the slicers, we’re closed. Went to Fareway, found something similar and the Fareway employee was more than happy to slice it even thinner than what was already in the case. He was more than helpful and friendly to address all of our needs. While I wrote a one star review for Jewel, I also thought Fareway deserved a five star+ rating for their top notch customer service. It's a nice little grocery store. What they are known for more than anything is their meat market and for good reason. If you want to actually go and see a real butcher this is a good choice. Haircuts of me are spectacular and the prices are really good as well.

They are a smaller store but that makes it easy to navigate. In most cases you should find what you're looking for or something comparable. I have priced them against other grocery stores in our area and found they typically come up several dollars less than what I would have paid elsewhere.

Tried to pay at their automated checkouts and had to use part card part cash. Followed the instructions as I do any other place and came into an error. When asking the checkout clerk over the area about the situation I was told I did it wrong and that the order couldn't be cleared. Mind you there is a button on the screen that clearly states you can cancel the whole order. So we did and paid in two transactions as the clerk stood over us as if we didn't have the money to pay or were going to steal.
