Recently went to this location to order items for a house I had purchased recently first experience went great the sales consultant was knowledgeable, found the couch and mattress I needed spent 3,000.00 was told all the furniture was special order and 2 weeks away that's fine, however on the day of delivery without even entering the home the movers immediately said the items would not fit into my home, I was not home my mom was there to help let the movers in, my mom suggested to look at the furniture and low and behold with my moms guidance the furniture was able to fit into my house, so this was poor for the guys who do this for a living unable to figure out how to deliver furniture, once I made it home found my couch had a few scuffs and a hole on the back in the leather the size of a dime, my mattress did not fit my bed, I then called and talked to mike in sales explained my situation mike was very helpful and told me he would relay all the information to the owners, while waiting for a call back I found out it was my fault I had ordered the wrong mattress I assumed my bed frame was for a California king however it was for a king bed, this was my fault. when I received a call back from mike he had informed me the owners were not available at this time but there shouldn't be a problem getting the mattress taken care of, I notified mike to not worry about the couch I did not want to make a problem for the couch, the next day I received a call from mike stating the owners were going to charge me a 20% restocking fee for the mattress I then told mike to tell the owners I was going to let the couch go and would appreciate them to take the mattress back and set me up with a king mattress, mike understood explained the situation to the owners I was then told they would replace the couch but still charge me a fee for the mattress, they wanted to do this so they could then sell my damaged couch make money off it and make money off me returning the mattress, we then went to the store not happy and was ready to pay the 20 percent for the mattress restocking fee, we were going to leave then after and request them to not order the couch, with all intensions to leave and do my business elsewhere Gerry and Diane talked to us and asked about what had happened, they took the time listened and understood the situation Gerry then had notified me that he could take 20 percent off a new mattress then there for making the difference in price for trading in the old mattress minor, this gave me a boost of faith in this company however the owners of the company have very bad customer retention skills I am a new home owner and younger I will need many other items for my home in the future so in a business standpoint you would want me as a returning customer, however if it had not been for Gerry, Mike, and Diane I would not have returned or had ever purchased another item from this store, THE OWNERS NEED TO UNDERSTAND JUST BECAUSE THEY DONT DEAL WITH THE CUSTOMER DIRECTLY THEY HAVE A MAJOR INFLUENCE IF THE CUSTOMER RETURNS AFTER NOT HELPING AT ALL IN MY SITUATION THE EMPLOYEES HAVE A MUCH BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF CUSTOMER SKILLS WHILE THE HIGHER UPS JUST LIKE THE MONEY AND VACATION TIME!! Read moreI became disabled and went to plaza house in Selinsgrove to purchase a lazyboy power recliner which I paid $1546 dollars for plus another $89 dollars for a 10 year warranty from Guardsman. Not quite 3 years later the frame broke and Guardsman asked if I wanted the chair replaced and I said yes. They told me I would get it from plaza house that's who I had to deal with. When I went there they told me my model was no longer made and I would only have $1015 dollars wholesale towards another chair so I didn't have the extra 500 plus dollars to spend. No where in the warranty did it say that all you would get is a wholesale price rather than what I paid originally. I got ahold of Guardsman and they said plaza house didn't do it right but I had to go through them. So please watch dealing with plaza house furniture there are a lot of other places that value their customers. They would not try to make things right. I highly recommend Kathy- she was easy to work with, great communication, and no pressure sales (we were there three or four times before we made our final decisions).
We had a minor issue with the table and she responded immediately and we were very pleased with the way the situation was handled.
