My fiance and two of our friends decided to visit Perkins in Williamsport while on vacation. We walked in to a very dry hostess, but didn't really mind. She seated us in a back corner where there was one other couple. The waitress in this area came to take the other couple's order about 10 minutes after we sat down, but didn't as much as acknowledge our existence. She came back again a few minutes later to speak to the couple, and again ignored us. When the waitress finally approached our table to take our drink orders she was rude. After giving our drink orders she brought us our coffee and water with a coffee cup that had a lipstick stain on it. When brought to her attention she said, "oh. Mkay." And grabbed the cup to move it to the table next to us that hadn't been cleaned from the previous customers. Since she had to bring us another cup my friend asked for milk to go with her coffee, but when the waitress brought the cup she didn't bother with the milk. We continued to let it slide. When we opened our silverware we noticed that my friends fork was filthy... before we had time to react the waitress came to take our order. My fiance asked how one of the menu items is and said very flatly, "It's good." No information about the dish, or anything more than "good." So we continued to let it slide and finished ordering. By this time we still didn't have milk so one of us went to find some. A few minutes later the service manager came with milk, and we asked if someone could clean off the table next to us - it was filthy; piled with dishes, food on the table and floor, and flies hovering (keeping in mind it had been this way for at least the 20 minutes we'd been there). The service manager was very dismissive and stated they'd take care of it when they could. He excused the mess saying he only had 2 servers, one cook, and him. Still, we tried to be understanding as all of us have worked in the food service industry and we know how it can be. However, we also noticed that a couple of employees were standing around not doing anything, and they had very few tables occupied. It was then we decided that between the dirty table, the dirty dishes, and bad service that we were just going to leave. We approached the counter and told the hostess we'd like to pay for our coffee and leave. She went to get the service manager and I explained to him we wanted to pay for our coffee and just go. I told him that we'd been given several dirty dishes and that the service was less than satisfactory. He didn't care. To his credit he didn't charge us for the coffee, however, he didn't offer an apology or seem interested at all that we'd had a bad experience. This was my first- and certainly last - visit to Perkins. As a manager of a store myself I can't imagine not holding my staff, and myself, to higher...
Read moreWe were seated immediately even though there were many tables occupied. I used the restroom to wash my hands before eating lunch and the bathroom was clean, with a wheelchair accessible stall, soap in all the dispenser, garbage can was not overflowing, and had hot air dryers for hands. Once seated our drink order was requested by a waitress who introduced herself to us,my husband & me,within minutes. In short order a pot of coffee, cups & saucers, and a small pitcher of milk, which I had requested was placed in front of us on the table at which time she inquired if we were ready to order, which we were. We placed our order of breakfast foods even though it was just after 1:00pm. We both had 2 cups of coffee and then our food was served at that time we requested a second pot of coffee which was refilled directly. Our food was hot, fresh and exactly what we ordered. The cost of 2 full breakfasts and coffee(free refills on the cup of coffee and we drank 2 carafes) was $14.00. Twice during the meal we were asked if there was anything we needed by the waitress ,and twice by the manager. We left a 15% tip on the table for the waitress and paid our bill at the register. All major credit cards are excepted . We were given a copy of our receipt and exited to the parking lot where our vehicle was parked in the easily accessible handicapped space close to the front door. In all it was a refreshing meal, in a cozy and relaxed atmosphere, which is priceless when traveling on the road as we were. I would recommend this establishment to travelers, families, and friends. Good food, relaxing atmosphere, and well...
Read moreWaited 15 minutes just to get our drink orders and when I finally got my drink, the cup had dried, crusty food all over it. Another half hour later, our food finally arrived and it was less than appetizing. My eggs Benedict had burnt ham and looked wholly unappetizing and my hashbrowns weren't fully cooked. My son's eggs were burned and he had barely any hashbrowns. The manager who delivered our plates looked at them and was perfectly happy to place them in front of paying customers which was completely insane. I told her to please just bring me the check as i was prepared to pay for the food but had no intention to eat it and then we waited once again. We went to the front to ask the hostess to please get our check and another manager was there actually ringing up our bill. He seemed annoyed at us for having the audacity to complain about inedible food and for complaining about the long wait and comped our meals. I have NEVER had a bad Perkins experience until today and would have been patient while they re-made our meals had we not been forced to wait so long just to get our drinks and food. I get that it is a holiday but there were just as many tables that were empty as there were occupied so it wasn't like it was anything overwhelming. The restaurant we went to after we left (Applebee's) was just as busy and we had our drinks and food really quickly so there is really no excuse on this Perkin's location's part. I would add photos but it would appear that they have disabled that function on their GMB page...
