Hawthorne Towers — Local services in Montclair

I’ve lived here for over 10 years and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. The front desk staff is so friendly and helpful. Mary, the building manager, is amazing. Anything you need help with she will do it. When my dad was sick she helped me so much. After his passing she helped me do everything to clear out his apartment also in the building. The building is on beautiful grounds that are maintained to perfection. We have a beautiful pool.A grill area with tables. It’s a very friendly social building. Would not recommend living here. Any maintenance issue that is not basic takes months to fix. We had a terribly leaky roof for three years, air conditioners barely cool, pool is constantly closed, and management is more than difficult and unpleasant to deal with. Management and tenants are unfriendly towards younger residents. Owners don't care about the building and raise rents despite not investing in the building. The "gym" has broken equipment in a tiny room that is unsafe. The entire top floor has experienced significant water damage causing mold that is just covered up with paint annually.

It has been a pleasure living in Hawthorne Towers for the past 3 years. This building truly has a sense of community like no other. When Marc bought the building a few years ago, he made many much needed improvements. The building is kept up with very well. Whenever you need something, he is extremely responsive and helpful. The staff is friendly and always willing to help out! We will truly miss living here but are onwards to a bigger space. One of our favorite things about our apartment was the nightly sunsets.
