I love this place because it is clean, their food is always fresh, and the taste is amazing. You can’t beat the price for the combos. However, their customer service is 50/50. They have forgotten an item from my order twice on two separate occasions and the first time it happened, nothing was done about it. I let it go because mistakes happen. The second time, they tried to make up a lie saying I ordered a different combo when the payment they have received was for the combo I wanted / ordered. Other than that I would definitely recommend this restaurant because the food is delicious and the amount you get is great. Just make sure you keep your receipts as proof. I order Peruvian food often, usually from Q'enko, now Lena y Carbon, tonight I was trying something different with Don Alex. I order 1/2 chicken with rice, tostones and beans. The chicken was inedible. Actually made me gag with the first bite. The chicken was literally SLIMY and it was SO OVER SALTED and OVER SEASONED. Tasted almost like excessive salt and curry spices. I feel like it is old chicken that they tried to mask with extra seasoning. Terrible. The tostones, rice and beans were okay, nothing special, but over an hour later and the salt and seasoning taste is still stuck with me. My partner was working at Caldwell for a week and we weren’t sure where to eat. I’m Mexican and he’s Colombian and we were definitely not trying to eat at a Colombian or Mexican place so we chose Peruvian and found this place. We ordered a pollo a la brasa with rice, salad, and fries, and we also ordered a chaufa de mariscos. Everything was delicious and had flavor. Where I live the Peruvian food is always dry especially the chicken so I was a bit hesitant with choosing to eat Peruvian. But this place has taste!
