My mother-in-law, my two daughters under 3, (2.5 and 1.5) and myself went this morning for the DIY experience for our first visit. Since they were under 3, my mother-in-law and myself paid for the experience as we were over 3yo and we were granted two sets of materials, which would give us access to do the experience in completely. We were to supervise my kids but they used the materials, which was okay because we wanted them to do the experience :)
We were introduced to Faith to be our leader and she was so patient! She spoke to us and interacted with my kids very politely and again, calmly and I appreciated the time we got to spend with her because we didn’t feel rushed nor annoyed if my kids did a little spill. We felt very comfortable and we all enjoyed our visit! She was fantastic!
Faith had taught the history and ingredients of the crayonology. We saw how they produced markers. We made our own markers and crayons with a heart/star press. The hands on activities they have are great and it engaged my kids for the perfect amount of time before we moved onto the next step. At the end my girls painted and played dress-up. While waiting for the tour to start, one can enjoy drawing on these big whiteboards, doing some coloring, and taking some photos. Tours are every 30 minutes, I believe.
The first part of the tour is not hands-on; it just shows how the colors and water markers are made. They have a pretty cool machine.
Parts 2, 3, and 4 are all hands-on activities. They will show you how to make your own personal markers, paper windmill, and different shapes of crayons. The last part involves placing tattoos or face paint on yourself. There is also a room filled with different costumes for photography.
The whole tour is about 2 hours of fun. You will walk away with some coloring goodies. Also, the ticket gives a $2 discount and can be combined. If you are in a large group, why not use it together and get something nice at their souvenir shop?

Read moreWe really enjoyed our time at Lucky Art Crayonology. This place is great for kids. I have a 11 yr old boy and 9 year old twins. At first my boy said he did not want to go to an "art place." Of course I took the kiddos anyways and upon arriving and looking through the windows, I heard their squills of excitement begin. We all really enjoyed ourselves. We appreciated that masks were required. Upon entering every room, the employees hand sanitized each person's hands. There were 4 activities for the kids to do in a organized fashion. The host engaged with the children and even asked for volunteers. It was a really fun outing. We were there for approximately 2 hrs.
*Parents note that you need to call before or sign up for a time slot. We had walked in at 11:50am and we're unable to stay because the next time slot was at 1pm. We signed up, signed waivers, paid, got tickets, left and came...
