I had an unfortunate experience at this business that I felt compelled to share. After driving from Los Angeles to Montebello because of the locationās high ranking on Google, I encountered what I perceived to be discriminatory treatment. Upon arrival, the staff was very rude. Initially, they quoted me a price of $20 for the service I requested. After informing them I needed a rush delivery, they abruptly increased the price to $300, citing that they were busyāeven though there were only two other customers in the store.
As a Black man, I couldnāt help but feel that their treatment toward me was noticeably different from how they interacted with others. This is a Latino-run company, and the shift in their demeanor when addressing me compared to other customers was disheartening and unprofessional. When I questioned the drastic price change, I was dismissively told, āIt doesnāt matter whyāyou can go somewhere else.ā
Despite my polite demeanor, I was met with unkind and hostile attitudes, which left me feeling deeply unwelcome. Itās disappointing that in this day and age, such treatment still occurs.
