The whole store smells like strong essential oils got all over my hair and both my daughters hair we had to come home and wash off right away. We bought greeting cards and once we brought them home I noticed a strong smell on them couldn't keep them in the house. Smell was also on all the other products that I purchased but I was able to neutralize the smell on those by wiping them off with vinegar. Holly Health please be aware of those with fragrance sensitives and consider not diffusing oils because it clearly gets on customers with longer hair and your products in various places all around the store. Customer service was very nice there and when I voiced my concern over the phone they did offer a curbside return of my greeting cards but the drive doesn't seem worth it to go all the way back for under $10. I normally frequent a smaller heath store more local to my area where I recognize the essential oil smell on maybe a paper bag they give me to put products in but not on products or in the air where I have to shower off upon leaving it's not like it at the other place. Holly Health is a lot bigger so I thought I could try some new products but sadly I can't go back in there unless they wipe down products and clean the air with a neutralizing scent that's not an essential oil. I know a lot of people who have sensitivities seek out these kind of stores to help them with finding the right products but it's a shame that I can't go back in any time soon.
Updated after owner responded: Yes I do frequently deal with being sensitive to fragrances in various places you saw a review I wrote with a restaurant who had a powerful automatic perfume dispenser in the bathroom that smelled of chemicals and I think it's important to inform other customers who may have sensitivities. There is a large population of people especially in and around the natural health community who have taken away chemicals and such and therefore have more sensitivities to strong smells as they go about their day- the smell was a very strong essential oil not like lemon or orange essential oil which are more refreshing it was a deep musky smell in your store. I appreciate the response and the time you took to write what you did and to evaluate your store as well as acknowledging my sensitivity. Many people would be afraid to write a bad review because they may be embarrassed but it is quite common to go fragrance free for customers with allergies or fragrance sensitivities. Read moreI have been a long time loyal customer to this store. Even though I could find the same supplements online for a cheaper price I liked the concept of supporting local "mom/pop" stores. In the past I have called the store to see if they had a product in stock - and if they did I would ask them to hold it for me for two to three days until I could get to the store to get it. I always showed up when I said that I would and always brought the product(s) that I asked to have placed on hold. They usually would take my name and phone number and hold it for me - never with a problem - that was until today. Called to have them put a product on hold until tomorrow and the person with whom I spoke with said that they could not hold products without it being paid for first and that products were for paying customers in the store. Well guess what Holly Hills you just lost a good and loyal customer! I ordered one bottle from holly hill health food because the last time I ordered it from Amazon a DIFFERENT company shipped me 6 bottles of a completely different product. So I received my order today from Holly Hill elated it was correct and had the product I’ve been searching for! I called the store and Each person I spoke with was very nice and helpful. I placed my order over the phone and they are shipping it to me in Florida! I can’t be happier with their customer service which was top notch!
