First time here, and will be my last time.
Ordered a rice dish from the menu which looks tasty, I know there‘s a writing in small font at the bottom of the menu page saying photo above does not reflect the dish it self. I was like ok this shouldn’t be a whole lot of a difference.
My food came and it does looks very good and colorful, but everything in my dish taste just like rice which means it wasn’t any taste in it, at all!!..so I asked the waitress for some soy sauce. I waited for approx 15 mins eating my tasteless dish because I don’t want it to be cold. Somehow the same waitress walked pass me and was heading to someone else, I called her and said hi, I was asking for soy sauce could you give me those? Her face expressions were telling me she forgot about it, yea I know.
I also ordered two take outs for my friends that night and was trying to ask the waitress to put it on a separate bill, she didn’t like that.... someone tell me why.
PS: if you want to take my advice and save some money, do not order the shrimp tempura, it’s not authentic, feels like supermarket packaged food, and it’s sucked.
I love Korean food, but not the Korean food that’s coming out of this...
Read moreAn amazing and authentic Korean restaurant. Every time we have visited, the food has been incredible! The staff has been friendly, and helpful when we needed help choosing items. I've shown the photos of our meals to friends living in Korea, and they have all said the food looks authentic and delicious! I love their banchan 🤤 I want to try new things, but the dishes we've gotten so far have been so good, I just want to get them over and over! For some fellow Americans, you may be shocked at the prices (they're really not high, but higher than you may be expecting), but considering how much food you get (my daughter and I always end up getting two meals out of one), it's absolutely worth it! If you're looking to try Korean foods, please go visit this restaurant!! My family and I can't wait to go back 💜
Edited to add - the dolsot bibimbap (third picture) is AMAZING!! First time having dolsot, and I've been wanting nureungji for so long!!! Had I realized dolsot bibimbap gave me nureungji, I would have ordered it much sooner! Can't wait to go back!! 감사합니다!
Edited again to add - pics of dongaseu and...
Read moreBornGa is under new management and has changed their format for the better. It is now a self-service restaurant that focuses mainly on Korean soups. They only have 4 things on their new menu: Dweji Gukbap (pork and rice soup), Sulungtang (ox bone soup), Sundae Gukbap (sundae and rice soup), and pork donkatsu. Though there are not any vegetarians options, this focused menu fills a niche need in the community. To order, you walk to the back of the restaurant and pay at the counter. When your food is ready, your number is called and you pick up your own food. Each dish comes with two types of kimchi and seasonings to make it spicy. There is also salt on the tables. Water and extra kimchi is all self-service as well as taking your tray back. Though the format is very different from what it was previously, the food was very good and hit the spot on a cold, autumn night. The restaurant was busy and filled with Korean locals. We are happy with this change and look forward to trying all the dishes this...
