I have shopped at Macys for probably at least 40 years. They used to sell Michael Kors perfume and now only on line. I ordered hello georgeous and pour femme and neither appealed to me. I could not smellPour femme within a hour and hello georgeous had a spicy flair that reminded me of a man's cologne. They took the perfume back. However made me feel quite judged that I opened the perfume to smell it. Not sure how else I was to know. They told me the vendor can't sell it now that it had been opened. They checked the bottle with a microscopic examination to see how many drops I used. I had only sprayed my wrist left with pour and right with georgeous and I did not like them for reasons stated above. I wanted to love the fragrances. I have been an Estee Lauder girl for years. My take, since covid , like everything else, the consumer gets less for more or the same money. These commercial fragrances that are being sold no longer have lasting power. Why doesn't Macy employees say the vendor this is unacceptable to my customer and we won't accept what u want us to sell them. Michael Kors can afford the 100.00 loss more than my broke ass can. The supervisor said they have to smell the perfume because people take the fragrance and fill the bottle with water. I live in Philly. Have encountered people from all walks of life and have heard some stories about what people do. Not once in all my years on this earth has someone said to me they got over on a dept store by removing a fragrance from a bottle and returning dyed water. It was a situation where I work here at macys and u are returning a product so I see you as the adversary and i am cocky enough to treat u that way because I have a little title and think I am hot stuff. Truth is you just have more living to do. So macys, there are many people who sike themselves out to think that a designer name is bringing a quality product when in fact they have started mass marketing inferior products and pushing their name as quality. We, the consumer want a quality product for our money. These colognes today do not last like they used to. Not Michael Kors...so disappointing but not estee lauder a d some others like Jimmy Choo. Nice fragrances but ask the vendor to put the oil back and instead of making a customer feel bad about a return make the vendor feel bad for asking u to sell inferior products. Also Macys, put fresh samples out. There was a bottle that I showed the supervisor or manager or whoever she was how empty the bottle was. She said we use every drop. Are u kidding me. Maybe you need managers who realize your identity is dropping because u have lost sight of what is really important. Take the bottles of perfume that have been sitting since 2020 and put fresh bottles so that people know exactly what they are getting before they buy. And replace young college graduates who have a position because of a degree and replace them with people who are in tuned with and care about the customer experience. There will be a generation who does not recall Macys because macys is no longer around. Do better and care about...
Read moreReview Specifically for Jewelry Section: my husband waited 2 hours before 'Kate' from the jewelry/watch section decided to help him with re-sizing a watch. My husband got to the store at 7:15pm. After 15 minutes, she took the watch from him and told him to come back after 20 minutes. He gets there after 20 minutes and another associate tells him he has to wait for Kate. Meanwhile, Kate sees my husband and continues to take 4-5 customers. She tells him , "I am gonna get to your watch next." And continued to take 3 more customers. She gets to the watch around 8:45pm and tells my husband that she has handled million of watches. Sadly, she didn't know how to handle this particular watch. After attempting to remove 3 links, we now have scratches on a brand new $300 Bulova that we got for my father's 60th. Macy's has great customer service when it's a new purchase but not for someone like my husband, who went back for assistance on a prior purchase (with proof of purchase btw).
PLEASE do NOT do this to your customers. My husband spent his whole evening at Macy's trying to get 3 links removed from a watch but Kate made his experience there miserable because she would rather take customers if it means making commission for her personal gain, than represent Macy's...
Read moreI am a wealthy successful black women who typically do not use the race card when shopping. I was looking for a dress for a wedding and I noticed that security was following me around the store. This woman was very obvious to the point I had to ask her why the hell is she steering at me while I am shopping which made me feel uncomfortable. The next time, I came in to return an item and I noticed the manager was following me while I was looking in the jewelry section. I dont know if security is alerting them to follow only certain people; but it is beginning to be annoying.
One thing if you are doing your job, but I am not the only person who experience racial profiling in this Macy's. A couple of my friends said they will never shop at this Macy's again. Which they have a Macy's credit card they will go all the way to KOP.
Next time I am followed, I will ensure you that I will let the local news know how security are following black men and women around because of the color of their skin. I just want them to know all races steal, not just...
