Orangetheory Fitness — Local services in Montvale

I have been to almost 100 OrangeTheory Studios and OTF Montvale is a FAVORITE. *Coach Katelyn always makes me, and EVERYone feel good about themselves with her support, encouragement and all around good cheer. *She also gives alternatives on the Fitness Floor when the Lunges hurt my Foot. Or my thighs. Ha!! 🤩ALL of the Coaches are so Great!🤩 *Coach Destiny is another great Coach Cheerleader. She gives great personal training suggestions on the fitness floor!! I always know she will make sure my form is correct for my most efficient movements. *Coach Steven is enthusiastic, helpful, kind and demonstrates with wonderful clarity!! I love taking his Strength50 classes!! *Coach Taylor is a born teacher and coach and her classes are so well run that clarity is her middle name!! I love Sundays with Coach Taylor! *Coach Drew coaches at 5am so I haven’t made it to his class but I know everyone that does, loves him!! 💪 *Coaches Lucas & Coach Dan are new so I hope to get to their classes one day. 👯‍♀️OrangeTheory is my best place to get a full, complete and well rounded Workout with the Tread or Bike or Strider and the Rower and Fitness Floor. -The Workouts are different EVERYday and the Coaches enthusiastically guide through the 60 minute Class. -OTF has Studios all of the United States and the World!! -I never have to lose consistency of my Workouts. -I make OrangeTheory Reservations before I go to Florida, California and even driving across the United States. 🏬 My favorite New Jersey OrangeTheory locations are Montvale, Wyckoff and Ramsey!! 🤩Manager Mia!! 12.31.2022 Coach Katelyn at Montvale OTF saved me from my sore left foot metatarsal pain. I thought I’d have to stop coming to Orange and Coach Katelyn said, “Try the Bike.” -It has been wonderful!! Horrible Experience - Avoid at All Costs

I have never had such a frustrating and infuriating experience with a gym or business in general. I signed up for Orangetheory in Montvale when they had the founders' membership rate of $139, and I was going religiously until COVID hit. Like many others, my routine was disrupted, and when the pandemic hit, gyms closed. Orangetheory was one of the last gyms to close, but even after restrictions were lifted, I wasn't comfortable going back. So, I paused my membership.

Here’s where everything went south:

When the gym reopened, my membership automatically resumed, and I wasn’t informed about it. I didn’t even realize the charges started again until months later. I called the gym, and the manager at the time assured me that the charges would be refunded for two months, and they would freeze my membership until I was ready to return. That seemed fair, and I was happy with the arrangement.

However, after I noticed another charge 11 months later, I realized they had resumed billing me after just one month of "freezing" my account. I immediately called, only to find out that the manager I spoke to was no longer with the company, and John had taken over. John was completely unhelpful and cold. He told me there was nothing he could do, and that the best he could offer was to refund me six months of the charges and cancel my membership. At that point, I was out $1,529, and I felt completely helpless. I tried to work with him, begging for any other solution, but he was rude and dismissive. I was in tears.

To make matters worse, after I contacted my bank to reverse some charges, Orangetheory went ahead and recharged me for the amount they had refunded. I was livid. John, as usual, was conveniently "out of the studio" every time I tried to get in touch with him.

Eventually, I had no choice but to cancel my credit card and ask my bank to help, but they only refunded me for one month as a "courtesy" due to the ongoing issues. Now, almost a year later, I’ve received a collections letter for a payment that was their mistake.

Honestly, I never even wanted the "six-month credit" because I just wanted nothing to do with their shady practices. To top it all off, John was incredibly rude in every email correspondence and repeatedly misspelled my name, even though I signed every email clearly with my full name, “Sanah.” The lack of respect was astounding.

This has been the worst customer service experience of my life. Avoid Orangetheory Montvale unless you want to get charged unfairly, deal with apathetic management, and face the possibility of being sent to collections for their errors. This place is a...

Orangetheory Fitness in Montvale is incredibly special to me. As a former employee I can say confidently that this is the best, kindest, and warmest environment one can hope for. Taking your health and wellness into your own hands is a HUGE step and an amazing step to make. And everyone on the team at OTF Montvale is on your team 100 percent. They always would say they are going to help you achieve your goals and hold you accountable and those statements are NEVER empty. Everyone there whole heartedly is on your journey with you. It is a family in every sense of the word for members and employees. And that is what makes it so special. John is an incredible leader and positive force that genuinely lights up any room he is in. Jess and Steph not only make sure your experience is as stress free as possible but makes everyone feel at home. They are truly friends to everyone. Kareem has one of the biggest hearts in this world. And all the sales associates are just truly great- in part due to having such a great work family. It is a joy to come to work every single day. Every coach is amazing. Every one is so different yet they make the perfect team. Like a puzzle lol. To have Brandon, Katelyn, John, Taylor, Nicole, and Drew as your coaches is an honor. Take it from me who watched them coach MANY, MANY classes. The work they put in, energy they bring, and support they have for everyone who walks under the orange lights is indescribable. I know personally for me as I started my fitness journey in June I found so much support from them. Every time I hit a PR, went heavier on the floor, or just simply showed up to class they genuinely were happy for me. I couldn't recommend OTF Montvale more and will continue to be their biggest fan forever.
