If it weren't for the nice cashier at check out this would be a 1 star. I frequently shop here. Since they did away with the craft section after the store reset/remodel I understand it is challenging for them to figure out how to merchandise craft items like yarn. Presently they are being sold in giant plastic comforter bags where the buyer has to commit to purchasing all the colors in the bag. Could be 20 or more skeins in there too and a variety of colors. Rather difficult as a crafter to buy into that when projects require several skeins of identical colors. The Bags are marked 25.00 to 30.00 dollars. !! When I asked if it was possible to offer smaller units... Like a bag of 5 or so like colors or colors put together that could be useful (like white, pink red) the cashier said it was a good idea. She shared I wasn't the first to suggest this and promptly called her manager Ken over who was near by.
Here's where the experience at Goodwill prompted me to write this review. I suddenly was shopping at Badwill. The store manager didn't take the time to listen. I had to interrupt him because he was answering what he thought was my question and I literally said. "That's not what I was asking" and started again. He walked away hollering to an employee and basically said no we don't do that as he departed. I am not sure if he really understood what I had been inquiring about.
The cashier, bless her heart, was supporting my cause and called the next manager over. It was the second manager, a woman, who had an intelligent conversation with me and explained their space challenge (Which is noted in paragraph 1).
So to Ken the "Badwill" manager: I hope you were just having a bad day. It was really a shockingly bad interaction that you offered today. I feel sorry for your employees if this is not chalked up to...
Read moreI just walked out of this location after spending an hour sifting through the highly overpriced junk. Used candles for $6 each? I can get new ones for less almost anywhere. It blows my mind how much they are trying to charge for items they get for free. Aside from the insanely high prices on secondhand merchandise, the customer service in this location is poor. The store associates completely ignore customers who are obviously looking for some help. I had picked out a few things to try on, and I waited by the fitting rooms after testing all the doors (they were locked). Noticed a sign saying to “see store associate for key,” so I looked around for someone who could help. Hard to tell who is an employee and who is a customer. Stood around in front of fitting rooms with clothes in hand trying to make eye contact with any of the workers who were nearby but although they clearly saw me waiting, refused to look at my face. Said “excuse me” to get their attention only to be ignored, so I hung up the items on the return rack and left. This used to be a decent place with pretty good prices and fitting rooms that were actually useful, but it’s been many years since I’ve had a good experience here. I won’t be returning, and it appears that this location is losing customers rapidly. I don’t go to thrift stores to pay retail prices, that’s for sure, and I certainly don’t shop where customers are treated as an...
Read moreI visited your location on Monday while running an errand in Media. I live about 40 minutes away and love exploring local thrift stores whenever I’m in a new area. The store itself was great — I really liked the unique silo layout and found several wonderful items.
However, my experience was unfortunately overshadowed by the behavior of one of the employees. I believe her name was Alex (or Alice). She followed me around the store and made it very obvious that she was watching me, as if I were going to steal something. It made me extremely uncomfortable and took away from what could have been a pleasant visit.
I’m a good Christian and always strive to do the right thing — and if I were ever to steal, it certainly wouldn’t be from a charity, especially when items like Ann Taylor dress pants are reasonably priced at $4.89.
I truly hope this feedback reaches her and serves as a reminder that not everyone has bad intentions. There are plenty of other meaningful tasks to focus on, and I’d love for future guests to enjoy the store without feeling...
