Waffle House — Restaurant in Montville Township

Had to fuel up was at a military burial service with mom, since it was a hour drive grabbed something to eat, I haven't been to a Waffle House in awhile, we decided for a booth, We sat in Wanda's area she had us wait for a second to wipe the table & seating off which were really appreciated, she introduced herself & greeted us with a lovely smile & made us feel so welcomed. Sheer got our drink order coffee for mom & water for me, she gave us ample time to look over the menu which mon just got the 2 eggs city ham, hash w/onions & white toast I had the same minus onions but add the waffle.

Our meals were very delicious, the waffle was very crispy on the outside & inside it was soft with a hint of vanilla I tasted, my eggs was cooked exactly his I love it over medium, mom just scrambled, I've tasted mom's hash w/onions I tell you I should've gotten it next time I'll order mines just like that.

Wanda got busy but kept replenishing our drinks before we could've even finish it which is a plus when a server does that, our over all experience was very memorable with Wanda being our server, there was a tall black gentleman whoo came up to us after we were done asking how our meal was? I told him "it was very delicious" he thanked us for coming then went back, everyone there we came in contact with greeted us with a smile & kindness, if I can give extra stars I would but we're limited 5's, keep up the great...

We stopped by this Waffle House, on our way back from picking up my daughter from school (AU ... go Eagles!)

I should state here that we're from Canada, and we don't have any WH locations (at least none that I am aware of). Some time ago, I saw and episode of Tony Bourdain's travel food show, but where he ate at a WH, and he liked the food so much, it made a lasting impression on me.

So I ordered what Tony had, pecan waffle with butter and syrup, and a pork chop dinner. I was pleasantly surprised, everything tasted great! Waffle was perfectly cooked, as we're my chops and hashbrowns (ham and jalapeños in hash browns rule!). Daughter said that her sandwich melt, with cheesy hashbrowns was deelish as well.

Simple, unpretentious food cooked and presented flawlessly, clean and comfortable surroundings, and fantastic service (the staff kept their cool during a rather long power outage) ... our dinner was great.

The waffles here are very, very good, but the low rating has nothing to do with that.

The service was absolutely terrible. I work in a much larger restaurant as a server & a host, so I understand that it's a hard job and I try to be very understanding with fellow servers. But one server to a party of 4 (we were the only ones in the restaurant) is very mild, yet we watched our server stand around and talk to other employees instead of bringing us our food, drinks, or checks. It took her almost 20 minutes to bring us our drinks, and almost 30 to give us our check, despite us all consistently asking (due to time restraints) and being the only ones in the restaurant. I came here an hour & a half before I had to work (my work is 2 mins away) and I was 45 minutes late to work because our server was genuinely that terrible. I would be fired immediately if I ever treated customers as terrible as this server. Very...
