If you would love to try affordable art/crafting/repairing clean borosilicate glass; if you want to bring to life a fluid, colorful idea brewing in the back of your mind; if you like the Netflix show Blown Away; if you don't feel particularly artsy, but you like landscaping or embroidering or pottery or ceramics or sculpture or making stuff with your hands with instantant results -- book an appointment right away! This studio is popular after it is discovered that Blue Sage Studios doesn't really let you get hands on with the molten glass. Keith also has many pieces for sale to spark your imagination, if you aren't sure what you want to make, but your curiosity is piqued by playing with a guaranteed eye-catching medium that you melt and resolidify in minutes - sometimes seconds! Pay attention! Don't drink beforehand if you are doing this for date night, unless the quality of your product isn't important to you. Hand eye coordination will be tested! It's incredibly fun facilitated by a really down-to-earth guide. He provided us with cold water, but as you are working with fire it never hurts to bring a cold drink with you. Keith also provided PPE such as UV glasses and gloves, but gloves are generally a hindrance in glassblowing and you are unlikely to get burned if you follow instructions and common sense. I’ll admit, I was a little hesitant walking into a garage—but what we found inside was something truly special. The charm we created together, and the kindness and patience he showed with my kids (ages 6 and 12), was beyond wonderful. It became a highlight of our trip.

This may not be a polished or flashy venue, but some of the most meaningful treasures are found in the most unexpected places. I wholeheartedly recommend this experience for any family.
