Iād give 0 stars if I could. My husband and I just moved to NC and looked at multiple furniture stores for a sectional. We ended up deciding on Big Lots. They seemed to have good quality products and for a decent price. We went in and purchased a sectional as well as a 3 year warranty on it. We werenāt going to buy the $80 warranty, but the man helping us persisted that we needed it. He asked if we had any pets, and we said we have a 1 year old puppy. He said that any damage our dog did to the couch would be covered completely. Any scratches, stains, or rips would either be fixed, or we would be sent a check for a new sectional of equal price. Well not a month after weāve had our couch, our dog chews the arm piece so thereās a rip in the fabric. That night I registered our warranty online (which was a huge pain) and couldnāt get the online claim service to work. So I called the customer service number, and the automated message that plays before you talked to someone said that if Big Lots investigated the claim and determined they couldnāt fix it, that I would be charged for the phone call. I was completely shocked by this, basically trying to charge me for āwasting their timeā by using the warranty that we paid $80 extra for. Once I actually got to talk to a person and told her what happened, she informed me that the warranty does not cover any pet damage and said I could review the warranty myself. Well I go and look online at the policy and literally NOTHING is covered. Nothing whatsoever, pet damage or not. The man at the store completely lied to us just to get extra money. The store manager also wouldnāt give us a refund on the warranty. He just kept insisting his employee wouldnāt say that to us because itās not true. My husband and I will never shop at this store again and I would suggest you be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStore shelves were well stocked , more items to choose from, associates would check and see if I needed any help, over all my experience at Big Lots was very pleasant, with one exception. The young lady working register was waiting on another young lady ( customer ) trying to sign this customer up for the Big Lots card , ( competing with another cashier) which I get. I totally understand trying to get the highest amount..BUT, when she had to keep asking customer to spell her last name š over again ,she was just laughing it off and not one time did she acknowledge me just standing there .. then when customer had to repeat her phone number 2 times, I was about to just walk out, another cashier came in from rounding up carts , saw me and rushed to the register to help me. He was very polite , apologized for my wait and the whole time the girl cashier was bragging about getting one more customer..and STILL not 1 time did she acknowledge me or that fact I stood there for 15mins waiting for her to ring up my items...I was nice this time , but, the manager from the past in me wanted to say something not nice... This is the 1st and only time I have ever been...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI like the store and some things are much less than others but their furniture has gotten outrageous. If I am going to pay that much I will go to a furniture store that delivers and better selection. Things I used to find in the bedding department are now cheaper at Belks. But you can not bear some of the other prices. Make your list take a day out of the month and shop each store no matter how inconvenient it maybe I normally save over two hundred just in the one day and get everything I need. Worth it for me but others are able to pay more now but as things get higher this may come in handy. Just an option for those of us who don't have a...
