I have done 50+ escape rooms and this was frustrating for my group. We were stuck on one puzzle and had to attempt it 5+ times to unlock an electronic lock, despite having the right solution on the first try. It caused us to be one code away from escaping and when we asked for a clue the gamemaster failed to respond to our request, leaving us to run out of time. Afterwards we asked the gamemaster to show us the puzzle and he could not unlock it due to issues with it. Frustrating experience that simple game maintenance could have prevented.
Edit: Since I cannot respond to the business' comments. The hurricane issues would not cause that issue. It is poor game maintenance and having trainee game masters being unsupervised during critical portions of the game.
EDIT NUMBER 2: Just completed the 2 new rooms released and we have gone from a 3 star to 1 star review. Revolution was decent, however, the Dr Love room just needs to be revamped despite being open only a week. I have completed 80 plus rooms and this is just a horrible room. The Dr. Love room has so many issues that the gamemaster had to stop the clock multiple times to fix the problems. Too many electric puzzles in general that fail We had 5 malfunctions related to electrical puzzles that didnt work as intended. From locks opening early giving puzzle pieces that aren't needed yet to not opening when intended and wasting precious time. The gamemaster was the saving grace as she was super helpful and apologetic. The game is not ready to be released and it looks really beaten up for being open less than 2 weeks. The owners need to rethink their puzzle strategy and focus on better rooms with puzzles that work, rather than trying to get too fancy and give their paying customers a poor experience. Especilly when multiple of their game masters have expressed concerns to the owners, yet the owners still have technical issues in multiple rooms and have no issues keeping them open to make money. Save your hard earned money and try another room in the area.
Edit 3: would have never come back but we received a gift card for Xmas so we tried the only new room they had in over 3 years, which is ridiculous. If I could give less than one star I would. The room had multiple puzzles that were over complicated or had no clear place to start and multiple fake clues and unused hints filled the room. Second, they say clues were only used once and we had to use parts multiple times. Third, they say you don't need to check electric outlets, but clues were locked in outlet covers. Fourth, noone wants to lay in a bunk bed to have to get a hint, that's gross, the linens aren't clean. Fifth, if the 5 dollar lock that the gamemaster tells you is sticky can't be replaced, yet you charge 35 dollars a person just shows how lazy the company is overall. Sixth, the gamemaster may have been better able to help if she wasn't on her Nintendo switch or he wasn't eating his honeybuns while doing the introduction. It's only in business because there is no competition around. Don't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI think better signage needs to be on this establishment. There needs to be more obvious ways to know itās online only for game room experience bookings. Iām so upset I have to even take the time to explain what happened and it sucks that it did but I went a few weeks ago on a whim with a friends visiting out of town, no reservations and the man who helped us was incredible his name was John. He treated us like top notch customers got us in a room and mentioned nothing about us being a walk OR having to book online. He simply got us set up and we had an amazing time. However , today my partner and I decided to go back (bc we had a blast the first time) and we were met with the most unenthusiastic people with zero customer service skills what so ever. The young man was sitting in the dark on his phone before he came over seeming upset we interrupted his screen time. Meanwhile the woman who walked in after who worked there as well- I greeted with a smile and she ignored me completely and just stared at the young man who came to desk. To make it worse he told us if we didnāt have a reservation we need to āreserve an hour ahead and to go online to check what they even have availableā No offer to show us the website or give us a code to scan to find it, and no offer to really help us at all really, also no offer to maybe idk CHECK THE TIMES FOR US?. Anyway your workers today seemed all to eager to do nothing which resulted in them getting to enjoy their time and your company loosing an easy $60 bucks. I think In the future better signage could be posted, and maybe an offer to help clients go online and maybe even offer to check times for them wouldāve made this experience far less cold. No to mentioned it seemed like no one was even in any rooms since no game masters were busy at the desks. We felt unwanted and therefore wonāt be back. Not unless John is working. John was great, John needs a raise and needs to be running that circus the people who worked today honestly sucked. From one customer service...
