Morganton General Store — Local services in Morganton

Update went in this past Tuesday, and I will never be back, been here a couple times, and never was I treated like a criminal, and by that I mean, having the cashier come up to me and take the two items out of my hand that I was going to purchase, and hold them at the register. If this place can’t even trust that customers are going to pay for their things then maybe they shouldn’t be in business, I have never been to a small business, where they want to take items from customers and hold them to ensure that you don’t run out with them. So after this last time, I will not be back, But it did open my eyes to see why some small businesses just don’t make it, I will not support a place who will treat customers as thieves or criminals, when I was just trying to support them and buy A couple of their soup mixes.

Came in a few days ago, a red headed guy made my frappuccino and it wasn't good. Next day a girl made it and it wasn't;'t good. Today I came in and spoke with an older guy with a beard. He sympathized with me, and profusely apologized to me, he made my drink and I went to pay and he instead paid for it for me and he said he is fixing the coffee menu so people do it right. I took my first sip and it was out of this world. If you order a frappuccino make sure to get the guy with the beard I see in town that wears the Jewish hat. He makes the best frappuccino around here. I was impressed with how much he apologized and tried to make it right for me. Though I had two bad experiences, I gave 5 stars because you had an employee that wanted to make it better for me and he did. That is real...

On my travels in Morganton I found this store that sounded very interesting. When I got there, a table was at the front entrance with about 9 men having a meal. I understood from the staff that they assemble there for their meeting on mondays, tuesdays and fridays every week. I thought that very unique and thoughtful to let them do this. This comes along with friendlyness and consideration that iI have experienced in Morganton with all that I have met. In the store there were articles of clothing to soup mixes and canned foods. they even considerate enough to include Gluter Free foods that is a big things for people who need that. The restarant "Swede's Cafe" was upstairs with plenty of seating and the food was delicious. The price was very reasonable. I highly recommend to stop here on...
