Excellent portrayal of the history for Burke County. There were plenty of exhiits to look at. Th tour guide was knowledgeable and proved an interesting view into the past. If you have never been to this museum I can only recommend it highly. Great place!

Was such a cool experience and a walk down memory lane! Didn't know Burke had so much history and the building is packed full of all kinds of artifacts! Would definitely go again and definitely would recommend going!

Went on 5/13/23. Very nice docent took us around. Bigger than it looks from the outside, approx 3200 sq ft with main floor and basement. Unique exhibits. Enjoyed!

My husband and I planned a day trip to the museum. NO WHERE on the website does it say Appointment Only. We call to make an appointment and the person on the phone was very dismissive. When someone came to the door, we asked about an appointment to see the museum. They said there was already a tour going on. The next one is in an hour. So we inquired about making an appointment for that time slot. Again, EXTREMELY dismissive. Why did you say there was another tour if you don’t want people visiting the museum. He went on and on about this person is leaving soon, then so-and-so is leaving in an hour. He has rehab so.....again why did you bring it up. Never in my life have I encountered museum staff so passionately against visitors to their museum. 0/10. Likely never to bother ever trying to visit again. Can not dissuade you enough from ever visiting. Literally go anywhere else. You’ll have a more...

There is a wealth of local history contained in the thousands and thousands (seriously!) of cultural artifacts housed here.

While the collection is impressive—and displayed well given the material circumstances—I'd love for the History Museum to be housed in a historical building (or a more appealing traditional architecture style) more fitting to the subject matter.

The staff was friendly and eager to offer free tours.

This institution deserves better funding and a more prominent position in the...

The tour guide was very nice and informative and FREE. We learned a lot of different parts of history pivotal to even national events inside this small building crammed with lots of artifacts. There were some hands on items my kids could check out like old typewriters, old cameras, rotary phones that were around in my childhood days or leftover from my parents and grandparents era. Definitely...
