Elements Massage — Local services in Morris Plains

This has to be the worst massage I have ever had (if you can even call it that), and I go regularly to a variety of therapists. It started out with usual questions and I answered I’m here for a full body massage and please focus on my lower back and right hip as both have been giving me trouble. Average medium pressure - not light and not too deep. Asked if I wanted scalp massage and said sure why not. Ok. Face down. Came in and started w scalp massage which I thought odd as most do it at the end. Then he proceeded to rub my back a little and soon started doing something also odd. He would press a spot very lightly (I assume with his thumb) and then just leave it there awhile. Then he would move it in a slight circle and go to another spot and do the very same thing. This went on for an inordinate amount of time. When he pressed in some spots it was so light I could barely feel it and I even said can you please massage with a bit more pressure. Ok so he started pressing a bit more but still nothing even remotely resembling a “massage”! Finally, he stopped and moved to my arms/back of legs where he thankfully did do a proper massage. Ok, time to flip over. Then he held my neck with 1 hand and with the other one again did that odd “lightly press a spot and don’t move for some time, then move to another spot and do the same thing!”. Imagine my surprise when after doing that for quite some time he said ok your massage is over…. really?!? What about the front of my body? I’m here for a full body massage. Normally you turn over at halfway point and they do the rest. Even worse, at no point in time did he even touch my right hip which I had told him was a problem area and barely did my lower back.

When I spoke to my husband who asked how my massage was he said it sounded like he was attempting to do acupressure. I never asked for nor did I want that. If I wanted acupressure I would have gone to a licensed therapist for that. I booked a full body massage and did not really get one and my request to have right hip and lower back focused on wasn’t heeded. I have to say this is EXTREMELY disappointing. I will return as I am a loyal customer but never will I use this...

The message I got at Elements was my first ever professional message. When I called to schedule I was surprised with how friendly the staff was over the phone. They asked me really insightful questions in order to pick the right member of their team who would give me the best experience overall.

I was nervous going in, but as soon as I walked through the door I was greeted by the sweetest and most professional staff I've ever met! They made me feel very welcomed. Michelle was the one who did my message, and her experience really showed! As someone who is overweight, I was really nervous about someone touching my body, but Michelle made me feel very comfortable and was very attentive to my needs and comfort. She made me feel safe in asking for changes of pressure depending on areas that bothered me. She even found areas that I didn't even know were bothering me! And something I personally liked also is she didn't push for me to have conversation. I'm a shy introvert so making conversation for the whole hour session would be really hard for me! The room we were in was very comfortable and relaxing as well. They made the environment perfect for relaxing-I almost fell asleep! Overall the message was magical and I left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Everyone was so kind and professional, and they really made me feel respected and welcome. They gave me recommendations that suited my needs without trying to oversell me products I didn't need. I used a Groupon for my message, and the staff was very helpful with that process as well.

I will definitely be scheduling another appointment when I'm back from my vacation! This is a wonderful place to go if you're looking for a friendly, professional, and comfortable location for a message, or one of the other...

Hate to give a place two stars but I have gone there a few times and today was one pure annoyance after another. First I schedule an appointment on line for 12. When I arrive I am told there are no appointments available at that time and that in line reservations don’t really mean anything unless you get a call for confirmation. Would have been nice to know this before I planned my day around getting there at 12. So they gave me an appointment for 1pm which I thought was nice. So I show up about 4 minutes late and the masseuse comes to get me around 10 after 1. We go into the room and for about 5 minutes she explains to me everything I’m doing wrong and why I am hurt and scoffs when I tell her things I have found out for my injury, a kind of what do you know.(not trying to be rude here but you are amasseuse not a medical professional your guess is as good as mine) so I’ll say the massage started around 15 after one and it was a good massage then when she tells me we’re all finished the clock is at 1:50! I was shorted 25 minutes! Then charged full price. So if you like a good massage but only get about half of what you pay for then this place is for you. I hate to say it but this will be my last time...
