had a shipment coming from The Federal Medal Company in Bedford, Ohio. It was coming to Raleigh, North Carolina. The shipment was sent all together from the same company. Aug 2nd I was told my merchandise would be at my home between the hours of 8am-3pm it was late, and unfortunately because of the ridiculous time window, I didn't have anyone to help me bring it in. The trucker took one skid off of his truck and said alright that's it... I knew I had another skid because I was sent the pictures of everything wrapped and getting ready to be sent off. So, I said to him no. I have more stuff. It wasn't on the truck. He then told me to call Estes and ask to speak to Wesley, he was no help and told me I needed to speak to Angela. I left her a message and she never returned my phone call. Aug. 4th, Gianna called me and told me they just recieved my other shipment and that it would be delivered between the hours of 8am and 3pm, Aug. 5th. I told her the situation and asked could the merchandise be dropped off earlier so I could get help to bring it inside...she asked if 8am and 12pm was better, I said yes.
Today at 12pm my shipment still hadn't arrived so I called, A man answered the phone, didn't get his name but I explained the circumstances as they are detailed above. He told me that it says my shipment was delivered Aug. 2nd, I had to correct him and explain half of my shipment was delivered. He then put me on hold....when he came back he said they had it and it would be there today I said I know, between the hours of 8am and 12pm so it was told to me. He then added they don't deliver residential shipments that early and was it a man who told me that, I said no. A woman, Gianna. He told me he would call the trucker and call me back. About an hour later my door bell rang and it was my delivery.
The trucker took it off the truck put it in the driveway and left immediately. Unwrapping my merchandise I realized it had been damaged.
Why would anyone chose to do business with this...

Our driver's truck was smaller than an RV that we frequently have visit our home that parks in our driveway right next to our garage, but he would not pull his truck into the driveway because he wasn't confident in his ability to maneuver. This meant he and my husband had to drag/push a pallet on wheels over gravel, which was not pleasant for either of them, as the driver was pulling so fast that he even fell over his own feet. I felt empathy for him, but also frustrated that HE insisted on doing it this way.
After this shared unpleasantness, the driver was then impatient. I'm glad the folks I ordered from gave clear instructions ahead of time to inspect my item carefully because our delivery driver was in a rush to leave and kept literally putting the paper to sign for delivery in front of my face even though we were supposed to have 15 minutes to inspect everything. Imagine having someone keep putting a paper in front of your face while you're inspecting a delivery worth thousands of dollars.
To any company considering using this service to deliver, I would recommend finding a different company in the area, maybe who will have drivers more capable of maneuvering their vehicles, and/or drivers who won't get in the way of your customer inspecting their goods...
Read moreCrystal Robinson, Customer Service Clerk went over and beyond in helping me resolve an issue between the original point of purchase and myself. Immediately upon delivery from Estes, my contractor identified that I had ordered the wrong part. I called the company in which I ordered the HVAC unit and was advised I had to locate my own shipper and pay for the unit to be returned. After calling several companies I had the pleasure of speaking with Crystal from Estes. Not only did she not transfer me as everyone had, she took ownership by contacting the original company, explaining the situation, and coordinating with them to ship the unit back. The company agreed to pay for the return. I truly appreciate her taking the to resolve my issue; that in fact I created the issue by ordering the wrong part. At the onset of the call I was very frustrated to the point of tears, knowing that I had just spent $4k on something that hadn't even been open and would have had to pay another $800 to ship it back. I am truly appreciative of Crystal's expertise, patience, and keeping her promise by following up with me to let know where she was in the process of getting the situation resolved. I wish more companies cared about the service that...
