Fat Dog Records, based on inventory alone, was easily one of my favorite record shops i have ever been to, but when take the owner Phil into account, I may have found my new favorite record shop. Phil was the most genuine, engaging, and passionate record store owner I have ever met. The conversation we had about music, shows, and science made it so I had to drag myself out of the store (but not before I bought a nice little stack of records). Whether you are looking for Classic Rock, Punk, Rap, Jazz, Soundtracks, Indie, or Pop, I can promise you, Phil has something in stock you won’t be able to leave without. A true gem in the community – Phil, the owner, is always so kind, helpful, and genuine, it feels like visiting an old friend every time you walk in. The record selection is constantly improving and you can find anything from current top 40 artists like Taylor Swift and Beyoncé to classics like The Beatles and Rolling Stones to deep cuts like The National and Guided by Voices and everything in between. Visited for the first time yesterday. What an awesome gem this store is. There is such an interesting mix of used records including newer used copies, many of which I’ve never seen before. The prices were extremely fair.

By far the best part about this shop is the charismatic owner who is the type of guy who’ll make you feel like you’ve been a customer for years. Just an amazing place. I plan to stop by after work every now and then just to browse...
