My late maternal grandmother was a Leap Year baby. February 29th of this year would have been the day she turned 100 and her 25th birthday, and it was her first 'real' birthday we've had since she passed away. I ordered flowers directly through Oakbrook Florist's website to be sent to my mom [who lives 5.5 miles away from the florist] so she knew we were thinking of her on her mom's birthday, including instructions to please leave the arrangement on the doorstep if nobody was home. I received a confirmation e-mail for my order, but no flowers were delivered. Not only was the delivery not made, I wasn't even contacted regarding any issues despite having provided my e-mail and phone number. I only know the delivery was not made because I asked my dad if they received the flowers [good thing I didn't ask Mom, as she doesn't know this happened at all and it would only have served to make her more sad].
I wanted to give Oakbrook Florist the opportunity to clear things up before leaving a negative review, so I reached out via the e-mail address provided on their website the next day with my order details seeking any information [as I am busy at work during regular working hours and not able to easily make personal phone calls]. Even if I do receive an answer now, the one-time opportunity and reason for wanting to send flowers on the one specific day is in the past, but I thought they deserved a chance to explain what happened: I am not unreasonable, and I understand that emergencies and other exceptions arise. However, it has been over 24 hours and I have not heard anything back.

   Read moreI donât appreciate how they try to detract credibility from a review by responding with a slapdash ânot being able to match a name to a deliveryâ. They can obviously tell who the sender was with the photos posted in the review and a responsible business owner would own up to their mistake by replacing the product or refunding the product. If the flower bouquet is meant to be enjoyed from all angles , then surely it should look good from the angle in the photo. Beauty might be subjective, but trust me, thereâs no mistaking this bouquet for anything other than a $116 mess. Some flowers might be unopened but some are obviously wilted. There's also little point in mentioning what happy customers you have because I am aware, as it was the reason I chose this business out of the many florists in the area, but it has been sorely disappointing to work with them.
It was a last minute Mother's Day flower delivery order. I confirmed over the phone that this specific bouquet could be completed and that it would be at least blue and white in color. I understand florists often take liberties with the flower choices etc so I expected differences but there was nothing remotely similar about the flowers I paid for ($116) and what was delivered.
The bouquet looked like flowers someone tossed in the trash that they picked back out and shoved into a jar. Wilted. Sparse. Ugly. Embarrassing. No redeeming quality other than that single, oddly placed white rose. I could've gotten a better bouquet by raiding a cemetery.

   Read moreI was late in ordering birthday flowers for my aunt, and at 4 PM, placed an on-line order with Oakbrook Florist for delivery. I called to make sure the order went through and to see if it would be possible to have the flowers delivered today. Speaking with Roi, we arranged delivery to be the next morning. Roi called me an hour later saying he made a beautiful bouquet and arranged a third party delivery service to deliver the flowers. In the meantime, I receive a text from my aunt saying someone tried to deliver food that she did not order (nor did I or Roi). The delivery service made a mistake in leaving the food, not the flowers, at my aunt's front door. First, Roi was extremely kind in having them delivered within an hour of order placement and calling me to explain the mix up. This type of personal service is so rare in today's world. I am very appreciative of his going the extra mile to make same day delivery happen - especially when the order was placed so late in the day. The flowers are beautiful, delivered to my aunt on her birthday, and I could not be happier. When most say "sorry, can't do it", Roi made it happen as a complete surprise to me. ...
