I am a huge lover of Mediterranean cuisine. One meal at Laziz convinced me I need not even look elsewhere. Absolutely tremendous food and tremendous service by some of the nicest folks anywhere, and is family run. This will surely become my new "Go To" place for Mediterranean in Pittsburgh.
Everything was absolutely on point. The hummus started us off and was smooth, lightly creamy and full of flavor. Then came the Meat Grape Leaves which were as good as any I have ever had. Plus the pita is terrific. Soft and fresh. Next we had some Spinach Lentil soup that positively delish. What a terrific balance and broth.
For our entrees, my son got the Meat Moussaka which he proclaimed the best he ever had anywhere and when he slid me a taste, I must say he is spot on. Perfectly cooked and with a delicious flavor.
I had the Spicy Fish wrap and it was absolutely awesome. The Salmon was done perfectly, spiced to perfection with a hint of heat that didn't overpower. The one thing that really impressed me was the wrap itself. Not even the slightest bit messy. The wrap was charred exactly as it should be with a slight crunch and nice and tight with nothing falling over the place as I ate. Very, very well done.
I highly encourage any Pittsburgh Foodie or out of town traveler to hit Laziz up. It is tucked away in the lower floor of an office building so the visibility isn't the greatest, but don't let that deter you. If you have a disability take the elevator down, but do yourself a HUGE favor and GO!!

Read moreWe enjoy going to this restaurant. The food is always fresh and plentiful. It’s hard to pick only 1 dish, so we get multiples and share everything.. then take home leftovers and enjoy for a snack later that night. This is a family business where they make you feel welcome. Don’t leave without trying the spinach pie with feta (is very similar to spanikopita). Try the Mezza platter.. it’s a great variety to share. We enjoy Shawarma and gyros freshly made and delicious. For dessert try rice pudding or baklava (my favorite) the layers of dough are delightful with the sweet nut mixture, a perfect ending of your meal.. or take it home for a treat later. I enjoy that I can have hot tea while my husband enjoys a nice cold drink. The food is excellent, but the service is priceless. We love to eat in, but have dropped by to pick up food to go… everything is always delicious. We park in the garage a short walk away from the executive building they are in. It usually costs us around $2 to park and enjoy a meal. There is street...

I discovered this restaurant Libanez in a very hidden basement in a remote neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Today is the third time I come to have lunch here. All the other family members near here were working, I was the only lazy retiree. So, I came to have lunch alone. I ordered “Chix Veg Soup” as a starter and Tabouli as a main course (video). Lebanese background music sung by famous Lebanese singer Wael Kfoury. I felt like I was in Lebanon. Crowded restaurant. I heard English, Spanish, Arabic and a language I didn't recognize. Anyway, great international experience without traveling. —- Pittsburgh-PA,USA 11/26/2024 Prof. Dr. DE LIMA, José Valdeni Architecte...
