Purchased GE Monogram appliances for a kitchen renovation - could not be more disappointed with both the appliance quality (still warranty repairs outstanding 6+ months after delivery) and Dormont's service.
Delivery was well below expectations - the team only showed up with part of the order on the first attempt, did not deliver fridge and didn't have enough manpower to move range. On second attempt, fridge was delivered but left boxed. Days later, we discovered the fridge was damaged in the warehouse (something very heavy dropped on top of). Dormont could only pickup the damaged fridge 5-wks after that and replacement fridge was 3 months out for GE delivery. Dormont would not schedule delivery of replacement until new fridge was in the Dormont warehouse, no exceptions made because they had "big builder projects taking all the delivery spots". All-in-all resulted in over a 5-month delay to my 2-month renovation project.
On top of this, two other pieces are faulty. The range hood motor seized within 2-wks of being in use and the range griddle does not keep temperature, e.g. goes cold half way through a cook. Dormont contracted with Bridgeville appliance to troubleshoot & repair. Took 6-wks to get on Bridgeville's schedule for first visit, 3-wks for replacement parts and now 4-wks for them to schedule a return visit for actual repair. I had no say in the repair company and worry about the quality of their workmanship, aside from their timeliness.
I worked with Wayne at Dormont appliance. He had very little sense of urgency and did the minimum when I asked him to help expedite across the many issues we had. Required multiple calls and follow-ups. Hands-down the worst customer service I have experienced from a retail store in many years.

Read moreHaving a really difficult time with the gentleman working the front desk. We had a refrigerator delivered Tuesday- 25Aug, 20 minutes after delivery it started making a horrible noise. Called the store and Heidi (our sales rep) scheduled a repair on Friday between 8-11am-which was a no show! Called them at 11:30am today (Friday) and the fellow at the front was no help, basically stating he has no record of my purchase or order (yeah after they have my 3K) and his hands were tied. I asked to speak with Heidi and after I was told she was off, he said there wasn’t anything he could do and literally hung up on me.
The sales individual (Heidi) and installation team seems flawless, but this is now the 2nd time I’ve had to deal with the unhelpful fellow in the store who works the desk/phone lines (1st time he wouldn’t assist me when I was looking in-person on the showroom floor). I seriously will never buy from there again just to avoid him! I really wish no one ever has to deal with him, he’s mean and down right rude. I’ll take my business elsewhere from now on. Read moreAfter being told by 2 big box stores that a refrigerator we wanted wouldnt be delivered until April we called Dormont Appliance. Tom verified the fridge we wanted via email and I was able to complete the entire transaction over the phone. We could have had our fridge within a few days but needed a Saturday delivery and they were able to schedule us within 10 days.
The day before the scheduled delivery they called to verify the address and gave us a 2 hour time window. They actually arrived in that time window and gave us a call when they were on their way!
When we bought this fridge we knew we needed something under 33 inches to fit where the current fridge was. What we never took into account was the size of our doors and how they were going to get the fridge in the house. Our poor delivery drivers spent 30 minutes calculating how to get the fridge in our house and eventually had to carry it BY HAND up our basement steps. (Big box drivers would never do that, they wouldve told us to get a different fridge and left it in our driveway) These guys however were determined!
