While this review is definitely late as this Happened back in Oct-Dec 2022 and I just now have gotten the chance to give my review: I had taken a 3080 graphics card to get looked at back a year prior and had made good acquaintances with Jesse and talked to him every now & then so in the Fall of 2022 I got a new MSI laptop and wanted to get Jesse's insight on it, it was practically brand new with no issues and I wanted to stop by and chat some and see if it was compatible for Windows 11.
He looked it over and messed with the controls and did it so fast I never saw what he did exactly. No sooner than he did that, it stopped working right and the laptop could not find its hard drive so it was blank as in you could not do anything with it. He said I need to download all these different programs as there was something wrong with the laptop so I called all the companies and such and they didn't know anything. Now after a short while I asked Jesse what he did and all I got was the run around and that I needed to drop it off and he would cut me a deal and that it was my fault. I kept asking him what the F did you do to this? It was working perfect before you touched it. He never told me what he did other than he looked at it and I am like I saw you mess with the controls so what did you hit? Again I just got the run around.
I finally was told by someone else to reset the controls. This is something that you have to go into the computer and do and low and behold the hard drive was there and everything was normal. Now during this whole time I had Jesse's Cell number but he would never talk or provide me info for me to fix what he did, he just wanted money to fix it and there was not a damm thing wrong with this.
I am telling you this to warn you, make sure you have an actual problem with your electronic/computer as he comes across as a super nice person but I wonder how many people walk in there with something real simple and winded up getting charged like $200 plus for a $20 problem as that is what he wanted to charge me and here along he is the Stupid F that caused this. Guess what Jesse it is still working perfect.
To the owner Sam: He complained about how little he makes and how under appreciated he is and how they have to get so many customers to come into the door to make money. Jesse I know you remember me (Randall) and you are a low down A-Hole for what you tried to do to me, fortunately I knew enough about computers to not be ripped off. Oh and your video games are over priced too. Sam you been warned.
Update to their response March 2024
1st - I was late in making the review due to time and that Google Review for some odd reason just didn't post this. 2nd - This was Not a personal affair away from your business, it happened on your time, your place, your paid employee and if the transaction of money did happen to go down it would have been to the shop. 3rd - I have never ever blackmailed anyone in my life nor did I really ever get free advice either. I never shopped or got any service at your shop. The video card was looked at for free which is what your store does, a free look, I asked like a few other questions but no where to coming up their and getting free advice for all kinds of things. I can count on 1 hand the times I called the store. 4th - He stopped answering calls when I called him out on this and asked why this is happening and for help and you know the rest of the story listed above. 5th - I stand 100% by my story, I know there are plenty of satisfied customers, ok fine but I am just giving my you my...
Read moreTook my iPad 2 in because it had be dropped and had broken glass and volume control button damaged. They said they could fix it and would take a couple of days to order the parts. In about 4 days I received a call from them saying it was done. I went in to pick it up and they had it stored between two laptops on a shelf. I assume it was there to hold the glue in place with the glass they had installed. I paid $100.00 for the repairs. I then took it out to my car to try it out. The glass was not put on properly because I could not access my home button (it would not push in). They had on some sort of fix that comes with the iPad under accessibility in the settings that would allow you to use the iPad without the home button. I was willing to deal with that since this was an old iPad and I was about to purchase a new iPad Air 2. When I tried to access the internet through my 3G, I failed. The iPad was telling me that I did not have a sim card installed. I then took it back into the store to tell them that the 3G was no longer working. They asked me if I had a card for it. I told them that it was working when I dropped it off to them. The then pulled the access door out for the sim card ans saw that I had one in there. They asked me to leave it with them again and they would try to fix it.
I got a call the next day saying that it was ready and they fixed the problem. When I went to pick it up again it was wedged between two laptops again. I turned it on right away and checked the 3G signal and it seemed to be working. They said that when they were working on it they "accidentally" unplugged the connection on the inside. I then took it home and found that the 3G signal seemed week. I then tried to connect it up to my home wifi. The signal wasn't working very good. I then noticed that there were small gaps between the glass and the case that should not be there and you could even push on the glass at the edges and it was loose. When I pushed on the edge where the wifi antenna is the signal was stronger. As soon as I let go of the pressure it was gone again.
At this point I was not going to go back to iGeek. I took it to another place in Nashville to see if they could fix it. They had it for 1 day. They took the glass off and discovered that the wifi and 3G antenna had been cut when they took the glass off at iGeek. They were able to put a new wifi antenna on and fix the cut on the 3G antenna and also put the glass back on correctly so the home key was working properly. They did all this and only charged me $20
I will not take any of my equipment back to iGeek in Murfreesboro and I suggest that you...
