To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding the quality of service and conditions at your store located in predominantly black communities. It is distressing to observe the lack of attention to vital aspects such as cleanliness, product quality, and customer experience in an area that deserves the same level of care and respect as any other community.
Firstly, the disparities in your store's offerings are apparent. While you operate a liquor store, it is disheartening to note the substandard quality of your produce and the absence of organic products. This glaring absence of nutritious options directly affects the well-being of the community, particularly those who rely on local stores for their groceries due to transportation limitations. The absence of diverse, healthier options perpetuates a cycle of unhealthy living.
Additionally, the state of your store's hygiene raises serious concerns. Reports of a lack of cleanliness, coupled with an inadequate number of cashiers, undermine the shopping experience for customers. A clean and organized store environment is crucial for promoting a positive shopping experience and fostering a sense of pride within the community.
The pricing structure also warrants scrutiny. High prices for subpar products are not only detrimental to customers' budgets but also to the overall economic health of the community. The disproportionate financial burden placed on customers seeking essential goods further exacerbates existing inequalities.
Moreover, it is disheartening to see such practices persisting in the modern age. Communities, especially minority communities, deserve equitable treatment, respect, and access to quality services and products. These practices perpetuate systemic inequalities and create a sense of helplessness among residents who are left with no choice but to accept these subpar conditions.
I implore you to take immediate action to rectify these issues and demonstrate a genuine commitment to the community you serve. Investing in higher quality products, promoting cleanliness, expanding product variety, and implementing fair pricing strategies will contribute to rebuilding trust and fostering a positive relationship between your store and the community.
I urge you to listen to the concerns of the community and to actively work towards making necessary improvements. It is my hope that your organization will recognize the importance of this matter and take concrete steps to provide the level of service and respect that all...
Read moreGiant Eagle is the go to store for groceries, and a host of other services to many to mention. They are competitive with other stores and because its part of a huge chain you can pick some great deals in their weekly adds. It has a small pharmacy that gives big pharmacy service and there is one benefit that is super-important to the customer's and that's called "Fuel Perks" when you shop all Giant Eagle's. I believe you get ten cents off for every hundred dollars you spend and many folks purchase their huge variety of gift cards and that also counts on your fuel perks. I have witnessed many people drive up to gas station including your truly and paid nothing for a full tank of gas. You must have one of the Giant Eagle Advantage Cards though and all you have to do is ask customer service. It is a Union Store which is important to myself, so employees stay their for years and you end up becoming friendly with staff. I do not believe there's to many stores that can match their prices and the return system is really no-hassle. It also has a bank inside which is handy and they have a State Liquor License and its one nice store within a store to visit, and they truly have everything from beer to three hundred dollar Champagne. I personally do not drink but always visit the state store just because I am dumbfounded by the selection. A good store that provides their employees a decent wage along with hospitalization makes for a happy workforce and really do not see that the prices are inflated because of it being...
Read moreOkay store, nothing spectacular. Too bad they have to have security.
Update. Redesign of shelves has given it more of a claustophobic, depressed feeling. Quality of Hot Foods and bakery items seems to have gone down,. I bought a Rotisserie chicken that not only was small and sad looking but devoid of any taste as well, Also bought donuts that were lacking in flavor,. By comparison bought same items at Giant Eagle in Lakewood and soon to be closed Lorain and West 138th. World of difference in quality of Hot foods and bakery. Chicken was a nice size and delicious and donuts (and cookies) were fresh and tasted great. Using self checkout at Lakewood and Lorain/West 138th is great as well. Lakewood has newer (and better) self check out machines. I only go to Southgate if weather is bad, otherwise it's Lakewood or Lorain/West 138th and I live on the east side,
Update. Went there today. Thursday Dec 14 due to the weather. Security had to dispel an escalating argument between 2 women. Southgate is that bad the store now closes at 10?
Update Went there today, July 6. Not too bad, but they should try to brighten up the store a little, especially by the bakery, and seafood. Self check still not open, and still have to have Security. Courtesy counter looked like it was closed. When I can and I want to go to Giant Eagle, I do try to get to the Lakewood location (Bunts...
