I’ve absolutely had it with establishments such as these continually failing at the simplest of tasks, failing to deliver on products as advertised, all-the-while making excuses for their incompetence, complacency and mediocrity. And if Panera takes the brunt of my frustration, so be it. Is it too much to ask to actually receive what I want, the way I want it? Is it so far out of the realm of possibility to correctly put together an order? Is it asking too much to expect someone to do their job? When I pay good money for a product or service, I expect to get it as promised. Surprise! That’s how commerce works. In these times, when a lot of (if not most) things are done online, I would think it easier to get it right. Yet, here we are, trudging through the ever-present lack of personal accountability, where work ethic has taken a back seat to deflecting blame somewhere or on someone else. This self-adorned “oh well” attitude is unacceptable. It really is quite simple: if I ask for sauce on the side, don’t drench the food in sauce, or leave the sauce out entirely. If I order a half pepperoni, half onion/green pepper pizza with breadsticks, don’t put onion on the whole thing and forget the breadsticks. If I order a burger, don’t give me something that looks less like a burger and more like a disgruntled FedEx driver drop kicked it to my doorstep. And if I don’t want egg on my Panera “sausage, egg & cheese ciabatta” whatever, don’t put egg on it. Not only did my sandwich have egg on it, but the cheese was mysteriously absent. To add insult to injury, the receipt taped to the bag, under “sausage, egg and cheese ciabatta” read “no egg.” Whomever constructed this sandwich, you either cannot read, have ingredient dyslexia (no insult to those who genuinely have dyslexia), or you don’t give a sh!t. I’m going with the latter. Regrettably, a small part of me thought that if I included a 15% tip, that might prompt my sandwich artisan to do their job. Sadly, I was wrong. I heard a saying not too long ago that seems to echo where we are today: “You cannot teach give-a-f**ks.” No truer statement has...
Read moreOf course I and my kids love Panera. However this Murrysville location has some issues. They close at 4:00 or 3:00 or whenever they feel like on Sunday (supposed to be open until 8). In the last several months they do not have working expresso machines, no bread bowls, randomly not accept online orders. Today I couldn't make an online order so I called and came in as the person on the phone had no idea the problem but mentioned they probably hadn't turned on soup orders at that location today (online). I came into the restaurant, a nice girl took my order. Another woman toasted the bagel I ordered and then just slammed the bag down in front of me. This same woman then made my large caramel latte. It appeared to be a small and when i picked it up on the counter (after asking this woman if it's mine and being ignored.) I picked up the cup and it felt half drank so I sat it down. Then the girl who took my order said yes the half missing large latte was indeed mine. I took it as I don't have time to deal with this but now i have some time to write this review. Murrysville Panera needs some help there. Oh and often they have no baguettes! I still tipped (not that we should have to tip at Panera but they have a tip jar and I usually tip the guy bringing me out my online orders when theyare accepting online orders.. .but the girl today was friendly who took my...
