As a specialty coffee enthusiast from Knoxville, TN, I’m glad to share my great experience at Grand Strand Coffee in Myrtle Beach! I usually bring my own grinder and beans when my family visits the area, as great specialty roasters are hard to come by. This time, I forgot my beans and stumbled upon Grand Strand Coffee—what an absolute gem!
The shop’s central location is perfect, with easy parking and a welcoming vibe that draws you in. From the moment I stepped inside, the staff greeted me warmly and guided me through their different selection of roasts. I settled on a bag of Ethiopia Durango Bombe, and let me tell you, these beans are just as good as any I’ve ever purchased! The light roast is expertly done, showcasing the beans’ vibrant, nuanced floral notes— a strong indicator of their professional roasting.
I’m already looking forward to my next visit to stock up on more bags to take home. Grand Strand Coffee is a must-visit for any coffee lover craving high-quality, specialty roasts. 10/10, highly recommend!
Also, I purchased a cold brew for the drive home and it was a home...
Read moreBeing a customer, who is a part of the loyalty program, and has visited here over 15 times since I have came to school here, I was super disheartened to be sitting outside at the table waiting for the sausage egg and cheese sandwiches that I ordered and having the owner (I’m assuming) walk over and yell “There’s better coffee inside here being that you are sitting outside our COFFEE SHOP with your starbucks” while walking away into the back of the building. I wasn’t the only one appalled, as 4 other guests sitting outside were in complete shock that she just said this to me. The family next to me got up and left after she said this and said they don’t even feel comfortable sitting there anymore. My only question is, was the $14 I spent on sandwiches with 20% tip not enough for me to sit outside of this place? Honestly disgusted, especially being that this is a small business that I have sent my friends, coworkers, and even family to. Distasteful.
Needless to say, I gave these sandwiches to some people I saw sitting at the park. Hopefully, they...
Read moreFor coffee nerds looking to try a range of high quality single-origin beans, this is probably the only place you'll find in Myrtle Beach. In a city where most of the choices lean heavily towards frappuccino-type sugar drinks, it was such a surprise to find high-quality pour overs and really well-pulled espressos. I've been visiting family here for nearly a decade and it's literally the only place that 1) knew what the hell an Americano was and 2) actually made it very well. Met the owner(?) and he's been a professional coffee buyer for years and turned us on to a beautiful Honduran single origin honey processed coffee. It was also great to just hear the stories of the growers and roasters as he has relationships with everyone that has helped create that coffee. So do yourself a favor and try a pour over or two. Truly...
