We came here on a recommendation from someone who comes to Myrtle Beach multiple times a year and told us it is a not miss, so we were expecting it to be an outstanding restaurant. Unfortunately, we were not terribly impressed. It is a fun atmosphere with open dining to the sidewalk. We were tucked inside and it was quite chilly inside. Our waitress was really sweet and attentive. We ordered our food and when it came out extra food was served to us. When I questioned what was placed in front of me the person serving it had an attitude about me questioning my order. I understand she may have been just as confused as me since it some how ended up on our order, but tone was not friendly. Once it was figured out, our waitress apologized for the situation and assured us it will not be on our bill, which we totally understand mistakes happen and it was really no big deal, but I'm pointing out this because of the way the person serving it responded to us questioning what it was.

The food we order was the sloppy burrito with chicken. My husband said it was average to him and was not blown away. We also got the hungary hippo nachos sharing size. We were surprised about the lack of meat on them considering it was $18. Felt like we were mainly eating chips with cheese and some lettuce and veggies. Was expecting the nachos to be really loaded based on pictures and the fact that the place is known for the nachos.

Overall our experience was average and we probably won't return to try again based on our first experience since there are so many other restaurants to visit in Myrtle Beach. The area the restaurant was in was very nice and a great place to spend time in. Maybe you will have a better...

Updated review: I can no longer recommend Nacho Hippo due to the lack of competent service. This truly saddens me to say this about a place that serves a meal that I whole-heartedly look forward to each and every year I visit.

Once again, I didn’t receive what I’d ordered. I can live with the mistake, but I mentioned 3 times “please no jalapenos”. I unknowingly digested them in my meal which caused an allergic reaction I was not prepared for. I called for the waitress which was nowhere to be found. After neglecting us, she arrived and explained that she told me the order would include jalapenos. I had her take the order back. She then returned with a plate of chips and several cups of ingredients for me to put together my meal. I told her I didn’t come here to make my own dinner and had her take everything away. I know they have the ability to make the correct order. They have done it right several times in the past. This is when I asked to see the manager, which never occurred. When the bill was brought to the table, the price was incorrect. The waitress said she told me it would be. Another lie from her and yet this is not the worst part of my experience. The part that disappointed me the most is that the Manager of this place was afraid to come to my table even after I specifically asked them to.

I can forgive bad food, but the bad service I received here at Nacho Hippo is inexcusable.

Previous review dated 3/2021: This has quickly become my favorite meal in Myrtle Beach. You gotta try the Bangin Shrimp Nachos. If the people working here only had more customer skills (including management), this place could achieve my coveted 5...

This place was recommended for the good and environment. If I could give it 0 stars I would. This was my family and I first time visiting MB. We went to the location across from Barefoot Landing. We were seated right away. Trash was on the floor. It was only a few tables with families. It took over 10 minutes for the waiter to come to the table. She didn’t apologize for the wait, she was wearing white crocs which was visibly filthy which is nasty and unprofessional. Dust flying every where. My daughter ordered corn only to have I guess a cook, come tell us it was out of season for them and they the waiter didn’t look at his board in the back. I refused to eat and was ready to go. However, my family wanted to stay and we did. They indicated the food was better than expected. After we got our bill, I was in the process of putting the payment method in the bill holder as the waiter was standing at the table “are you done” “is the bill ready”. I was pissed! I didn’t verbally say anything because I was already 2 seconds from going off and didn’t want to have my family go through that. She got the bill with the exact amount down to the cent and not a cent over. Here’s a tip for the waiter….please dress appropriately and be clean, know the menu, be respectful and don’t expect a tip when you provided subpar service. To the owner, employee Ms do what is allowed, do better. I would NEVER recommend this place. Way to many places with better food, service and cleanliness. Name should be...

Nacho Hippo in The Market Common Myrtle Beach lives up to its name, offering a fun and flavorful Tex-Mex experience for the whole family. Here's a breakdown of what you can expect: The Good: Nacho Average Nachos: Their claim to fame, the "Best of the Beach" nachos, are a must-try. They come in a variety of sizes to satisfy any appetite. Taco 'bout Variety: Dozens of handmade tacos means there's a flavor combo for everyone. More Than Just Tex-Mex: The menu also features quesadillas, burritos, and other Mexican staples if you're looking to explore beyond the nachos. Family-Friendly Fun: Sidewalk seating allows you to soak up the Myrtle Beach atmosphere, and live entertainment adds to the lively vibe. Flat-screen TVs keep everyone entertained if there's a game on. A Few Things to Consider: Tex-Mex Style: If you're looking for a more authentic Mexican experience, Nacho Hippo might be a little on the Americanized side. Possible Wait Times: Especially during peak tourist season, there could be a wait for a table. Overall: Nacho Hippo is a solid choice for a fun and casual Mexican meal in Myrtle Beach. The portions are generous, the atmosphere is lively, and the menu offers something for everyone. It's a great spot to grab a bite with friends or family after a day at the beach.
