So today was second day I went to visit this cat rescue. The first time when I called to ask directions they answered the phone “hello” didnt state the business name or anything so very unprofessional to start with. When I arrived I wasn’t welcomed just starred at and I felt extremely uncomfortable. The main volunteer was extremely rude and right of the bat was asking extremely personal questions. She proceeded to get an attitude with my mother because my mom said we already have 3 cats and the lady was like then why would you want another! But me and my parents are extreme animal lovers and all three of our cats were rescues that were bottle fed. I wanted my own cat to call mine and that’s why we were there. She then asked how old I was and I told her I am 20 about to be 21 in 2 months and she said well we don’t adopt to anyone under 21 and my mom said she would be adopting and the lady said that would be fine. So I continued on and looked at the cats and I told her I wanted an older cat and every cat I asked about she was like no you don’t want that one. Thankfully I found one I absolutely adored even though she told me I wouldn’t like him either. So I leave and I came back today and the manager was there I wanted to see the cat I had played with before just to make sure that was the one and immediately the manager was rude and was whispering with the lady that I had previously spoken with. The manger then approached me and said the same aweful things the lady before did. Asking me why I would want to adopt another cat and asking what was wrong with the ones I already had. I was so offend and couldn’t believe that I was being spoken to in such a degrading manor. Then when I told her that the other lady had told me it was fine if my mom signed for me they both called me a liar and told me I was making up stories. She insulted my appearance and called me names after I asked to see their business license and she screamed at me and told me that she didn’t need one and that they don’t have to answer to anyone because they are a non profit. They have well over 80 cats in this tiny room and on one side they have 4 huge cages with 1 cat in each one and then on the other side had these little beds with 3-4 cats in each one. This place is so unprofessional and rude I would...
Read moreTiny little store 500 square in all maybe with 80 plus cats most have some kind of sinus infection that is contagious. Saw a couple cats with mange. They said they were treating them for the infection but cats were open roaming around with an infections giving it to other cats. The older lady that owned the place stated that several of the cats that i asked about had been there for 3 plus year or six years since they were kittens. Several cats had been there since they were kitten and had not been adopted out. When i asked for an adoption form. The older lady said that i didnt like cats because
i had two dogs and my girlfriend had made a joke saying i was more of a dog person then a cat person and she had over heard the conversation and she new i was adopting a cat just for my girlfriend when it was actually the other way around. The lady then told me that based on what she had over heard that she had made a decision not to adopt any animals to me. I came in to look at cats with my girlfriend. I saw the conditions of the kittens i asked questions. I asked where the cats where being treated. She state that she was treating them.
I am 30 year old man with two great dane show dogs. That i show. I have owned cats, dogs, cows, chicken. Done work with animal rescue. Served in the military 8 year. Am a licensed medical professional. My personal opinion of this place is that the owner wants to own all the cats and will not adopted them out. This lady runs a small rescue with too many sick cats in a closed space with not enough litter baskets per cat ratio. Good for her for saving the cats but she is unwilling to adopt out to people or even go through an interview process before making a decision. She doesn't do home visits and is not concerned with the health of the cats.
She was adopting a kitten out to a 70 year old man for his 5 year old grand daughter. When i was there but she refused to take my information, to interview me or my girlfriend. Because she mad an decision based up a conversation she overheard stating i was a dog person more then...
Read moreMy husband and I made three trips here because we wanted to visit the cats and had treats for them. The first 2 times they were closed. On the third day, several workers were inside, but the door was locked. A woman came to the door and asked what we needed. When we told her we were there to visit the cats. She said they were closed and could only be viewed by appointment that we would need to call the manager to make an appointment. She was very short and rude. She did not offer us a number or a name to contact anyone. We explained we had been there for 3 days in a row and we're excited to play with the cats and asked when it would be possible to come in and see them. She had no answers and basically just told us to call the manager and shut the door in our face. Very unprofessional and very rude. I wanted to also inquire about volunteering but if I have to work with people like that I will find other places to offer my services. Very disappointing since they're little room is filled with cats that aren't getting the attention and love that they deserve and missing out on...
