Great donuts but horrible experience.
Full disclaimer, this review is going to trigger some people about the whole PPE mandate. Not going to politicize this, just share my opinion. The only thing that you need to know about the current restrictions was that PPE was not required for entrance into the store - suggested, but not required.
I went in today to pick up a half dozen. I went in with my family - none of whom were wearing masks - while maintaining guidelines. I am a visitor from NC and heard great things about them. Walked in was greeted, ordered, and waited until our order was complete. As we were leaving, some worker who decided that this was going to be the cross he died in said - and I quote - "I'm gonna tell you all now, masks are required in this part of town. Keep that in mind next time."
You are wrong. I deliberately checked guidelines before I went into your store. Also, no signage was on the door advising me that I was required. Why tell me when I am leaving? Why not stop me at the door? Why make it a point to make an example of me? You don't want to serve me - give me a refund and tell me to get out.
As much as I liked their donuts, I won't be going back. Guilt shaming me into following a suggested action when I still have a choice is a douchebag move. If you had posted guidelines on your door that I had to adhere to, this would be a...
Read moreWe didn't even get a chance to try the donuts so reviewing based off experience and staff alone. We waited quite a bit in line before taking our order which didn't bother me really. It was a long line so I assumed there would be a wait. The woman taking orders was very rude and didn't crack a smile for anyone. I was going to order a frappe but she told me they don't have the powder to make it. So I was going to order 2 donuts when she stopped me and looked around and said its going to be about a 25 minute wait. Doesn't seem like a big deal except she kept saying it to me and the people behind me how I was only ordering TWO donuts and she HAD to tell me the wait time. She acted like I was inconveniencing her with my order. We decided to go so I thanked her for letting me know. As I am leaving she tells the people behind me again how I was only ordering TWO donuts and had to let me know the wait time. In which I genuinely thanked her AGAIN for letting me know since I have 2 children under 2 who would probably have had a hard time waiting. It was like she was trying to create a problem out of nothing. Im sure it would have taken much longer than 25 minutes also considering only one order had been fulfilled the entire time I was there and there were people lined up all around the...
Read moreI’ve had Krispy Kreme, Dunkin, Peace, Love and little doughnuts and now, crème de la crème of doughnuts, Duck Doughnuts. You ask how they came up with the name? Creator and founder started the chain on the sandy beaches of the Outer banks of Duck, North Carolina. It was not busy on a Saturday afternoon, which gave us plenty of time to be overwhelmed by the variety and smells. One starts with the Classic vanilla doughnut or the new chocolate cake donut. Then you move on to a wide variety of toppings and your order is nicely crafted right in front of you in a very short order. My first taste of Duck heaven came in the sweet, lovin’ mouthful of the Maple Bacon. Vanilla cake donut drizzled with maple icing and warm, crisp chopped bacon. Also on the menu is coffee, espresso, sundaes and one can even venture out to try a morning breakfast sandwich with your choice of breakfast items between a warm doughnut. Staff was friendly and very helpful in their suggestions. One can only see one drawback, one “will”...
